Yup thats right, I said that above. I can hear the OMGs and "Call the men in white coats" he has finally flipped already!
To clarify I still fully believe that the ROTW ships are horrendously over powerful! However, this past few weeks I have flown my stock Xwing (Heavy mission still bugged) instead of my JSF in a few duties to retrain and yesterday, tired of massacring bols I took it into Kessel, whilst overt!
So I hype in and see a rebel corvette in front of me and a couple of red targets cricling it, Joybutton3 and im locked on the nearest, a JSF! With a little trepidary shake I Joybutton4 and hit 1550 Sfoils closed. The JSF spots me and turns to engage, at 750m I drop my speed and pump out 2 sextuple shots. Quickly rotating 180 degrees I whilst moving out of his direct line of fire I dodge 2 shots that blast over my canopy, line him up loose one more broadside and he is dead! Joybutton3 again and im on his mate (JSF again) who dies very quick as he still hasnt seen me. I then proceed to blow up every NPC imp attacking the corvette to make it more difficult for the guys trying to attack it whilst nonOvert (cowards).
For the next half an hour to an hour I flew up and down Kessel until no Imp would set foot there and got 11 PvP kills (9JSFs and 2 Oppressors). Some of these came back and where willing to try again, even ganging up on me and I still took them all down with just half my front armour gone when i left Kessel.
Well done to those guys who came back and had the tactics talks with me and tried again and again, and to those of you who sent me hate tells because you think space is danger free when farming, go farm on the ground, space is my domain, and, I am at WAR!
later on I got popped by a JSF in DS. However whilst there I had a pop at a RGInt and only got its shields down to 33% (I had no missiles, was set up for PvE). That ship is mental, especially the guy flying it who wouldnt stray out from the ISD no matter what I did!
So anyway my space fun quotient has been significantly improved over the past 24 hours. Now to get old Yanus up in his JSF killing flying bathtub alongside me and we can show these ROTWs the oldschool way of doing things.

if they was there trying to do their ace mission then i'd say thats pretty dirty thing to do
Nope, at least one of them was a decent flyer, and came back several times to die and gave a nice "Youre good" /tell.

Funny, I didn't think you needed to be overt to kill the corvette? One could say they were asking for it![]()
You dont need to be overt in kessel, and you dont need to be overt for the master Vette mission.
anyone going overt in kessel is asking for it, and it doesnt matter if they are trying to do their master mission.
Overt = PvP no matter how you look at it.
Its not like you accidently goes overt in space, you have to fly up to a station and say yes to it.

I've got the makings of a murderous level 10 engine that I want to slip in my heavy X-Wing at some point. With just the pieces I have now, I'm looking at low 80s YPR, with just over 100 speed on RE.
I WILL MAKE THAT THING FIT!!!
A-Wings are nice, but it ain't Star Wars till someone barks "Lock S-foils in attack position" when diving on a group of JSF poons.

Got one like that, and yes it is murderous. I need to go back and re-examine some of my loadout so I can put the 3rd .25refire Experimental gun back on also. I had to shed it for an L7 REd but I miss being able to drain my overcharged cap and the spraying megadeaths thing...

Oh yeah im always seeing "Imperial Strike Package" fighters there that are blue to me but go red when i shoot them, is that the much vaunted Bomberstrike, or do imps get some help on their mission?
Yup, that's the b-strike.
Aced Imperial Inquisition on Tarq, and now I'm doing it as rebel Vortex on Wanderhome just for a change, without having to give up stuff on a very old original toon. And in my experience, B-strike serves one main purpose - give the halfwit npc ships' AI more targets to sort though so the very low mass Imperial ships can strafe through a few times to take out the targets. It doesn't do so much damage, and gets chewed up in short order if there are enemy fighters around, but once the fighter screen is removed, the B-strike makes for a great screen to draw fire while you do your thing. ![]()
It balances out though with the high Rebel ships' mass. Been flying around exp'ing up in Kessell on Tier 5s in my Longprobe since about 2-3-2-2. With proper equipment, the Longprobe is teh pwn!

CMN? what does that mean?
Anyway, I should point out, I was flying a normal X, and unless I level up my unlocked toon to do my borked mission for me I wont see it anytime soon. But so what!
It would be nice though, I do have 2 AMAZING engines for it, a massive shield, 3 Exp. blasters and a mark 4 proton launcher waiting for it!
EDIT: Oh and since the Cu my macros have been buggered, the best being "Enemy spotted, Sfoils to attack position, break by pairs and engage, leave the squints and trips to me and, may the Force be with us all!". That was always good in a mixed group of friends and noobs. The regular teamates would just go "copy", "roger" etc, and the noobs would go "WTH?"

pwnt?
And seriously, I've been flying 100% overt since I'm doing pilot the second time, this time as Rebel. Didn't get remotely mad when an Imperial ace came by and scorched me outside of Corellia station as I want coming in to land, he in his JSF and I in my freebie Z95. Just did a /salute, fixed my ship, and went back to go overt again so I could net more FP from my missions. It's overt. It means if there's an enemy around, they have free reign to attack you.
That, my friends, is Star Wars.
