ok yes i am a teir one pilot and

yes i'm working on teir but

no i don't in anyway have the skills

to complete my missions

but what do they expect out of me?

honestly they give me a mission to

intercept a rebel transmission.....ok fine

tell me where to go........ok fine

i get there and have to fight of rebels......ok fine

but why oh why do they also give me a TEIR 4

enemy ship to fight???? and why after only

30 seconds does another wave of fighter show up?

it's no wonder i haven't completed my mission

whenthe odds are 9 to 1

one other thing nobody that IS NOT teir 4 should

not have to go up against a teir 4 ship

i should only be fighting ship that are at my same level

to date the best i've ever done is 50% yupe 50%

of the transmission intercepted

and I STLL failed the mission

with all this in mind i ask

DEV'S WHY ARE THESE MISSIONS SO HARD??

The Tier 4 isn't part of your mission. It's just a spawn that you happened to get close to. That's like your chuba lair for a mission spawning next to a platoon of Stormtroopers who shoot you down. It just happens sometimes.

And the whole purpose of these missions is to teach you to be better. Sometimes, that means blowing up a few times. Sometimes, that means blowing up a lot. But you'll get there if you keep trying. And when in doubt, bring a friend.

Can i see some math proving this. The odds just dont seem to calculate out to this when i do them?

I can kinda see this guy's point. The Teir 1 missions are a cake walk and then they toss you into fairly difficult Teir 2 missions. It's not necessarily that Teir 2 is too hard, just that the gap in difficulty from Teir 1 to Teir 2 is rather large. I'm just a newb pilot myself and not a very good one, but I still think Teir 1 lulls a newb pilot into believing it's always going to be this easy and then all of a sudden, BAM! Teir 2 comes around and you're getting your rear handed to you on a silver platter.

Anyways, Teir 2 is hard (in my opinion) because Teir 1 is too easy. Narrow the difficulty gap, even if it means making Teir 1 more difficult (which should elminate the hoards of bad pilots with no skill what-so-ever, like me).

Just my 2 credits.

The steps between Tier 1 and Tier 2 are actually small. It's the jump from 2 to 3 that tends to kick you in the rear the first time.

actually for me it's the jump from tier 3 to 4 that is busting my chops, i'm a 3333 SA pilot (one of the easier squads i've heard) and i have a very hard time finishing any of my missions, not sure if my ship just isn't up to snuff, or if i'm not, dunno. I do know i can take out 6 tier 3's with no problem, but one of my missions had me against 3 tier 5 x-wings and it was hell, but, i just figure that means i have to get better, so i'll practice, once i get 4333, i can get a nicer ship, so that should help a bit

I'm a Storm pilot newbie. And I chose Storm because it was based off Tatooine. The starter planet thinks I - thats should be a nice easy mission series thinks I :0.

Anyway I havent been able to solo a single one of the tier 3 missions. So I asked for help from friends. My big gripe here is asking for help gennerally gets you an Ace pilot, who basically comes allong and does the mission for you. Not much fun there.

The one time I found a fellow pilot trying to do the same mission , we grouped and discovered that we got double spawns. Just great. Encourage cooperation and team play why dont they.

If you need help, check the pilot helper list. There are usually more than five people for each faction on each server willing to help. Bigger servers have even more willing to help.

Get help, and feel free to communicate with the Ace as far as what kind of help you want. Sometimes if they'll just destory one out of every three ships it helps, or disable them for you, or even just draw fire. When I fly for people against those gunboat packs that tend to come in T3, often I'll just go in ahead of them to draw fire.

More like help a lot, so long as you can manage the sluggishness. 4333 is the way to go for more mass for certain.
