Thread: who decided how difficult the missions would be?
I'll hazzard to guess you chose to fly for Storm Squad. This is about the worst squad to fly for if you have no idea how to fly defensively and you want to do it solo. The tier 4 you are encountering is a random spawn not part of your mission.
For the missions where you have to do a transmission, recieve a transmission or defend a waypoint. high Yaw,Pitch,Roll is your best defense. Don't try to fight the waves of mobs. You want to spin and turn constantly, never fly in a strait line around the WP you are defending.
Every mission is doable solo, you just have to figure out the tricks for each mission even if it means reconfiguring your ship(s) and changing your mind set. If you can't do these things then you can give up or find a wingman.

You mean its your fault that the jedi can't throw their lightsabers out of their ships to cut off someone's engine?
Well I earned mine but that bloody token respec won't gimmie that Ace Badge /cry

This is not every other profession. This is Pilot. And in this profession, you learn how to play before you get better equipment. I am by no means a great pilot. Despite that, I have nearly finished Crimson Phoenix Squadron over the last day, and I have done it all solo. You have to be able to think on your feet, you have to know your ships, and you have to know your droid programs. If you can't do one of those three things, you'll keep doing the mission until you can. Tier 2 is't that bad, you'll get there if you keep trying. The point is, though, that you have to try. Unlike the ground game, you can't just shoot the same thing over and over, and attain "Mastery" that way. When you see someone with an Ace badge, it means one of two things. Either they earned it, or they have enough friends to earn it for them. Complaining about it won't make you a better pilot.
Wow this original post is just 2 funny. I cannot stop laughing.
There is NOT one ACE out in Space that has done every mission that it takes to get to ACE solo. It just does not work that way.
If anything space is far 2 easy. Since I made RSF Ace I have helped many people get there. Some I just take on my gunboat an let them sit back an me kill all... that is the easisest way to get someone through tier 1 an 2, for the exp part of it. The missions just take a bit of time to do, but that is part of the game enjoy it.
Tier 3 is nothing but missions get somone to help u an they take about 45 minutes each to do.
I am helping someone now in game an well with the double exp he gets about 800k exp for doing the Black Sun Destroy duty mission [tier 4]. He is 4434 now an just bought a tier 4 ship today [Sat morning this person was working on tier 2 [today is Monday]]. Ya it was slow as all I did was disable things for him an he killed them so it takes about a hour to a hour an a half to complete the mission. On my personal last box of tier 4 duty mission I did it in 45 minutes solo. Took me 2 an a half hours when I first started tier 4 to complete the same mission solo with a couple stops at the space station for repairs.
So u work at developing a friendship with someone that is a Ace, an once u do it will take u easily under a week to make Ace.
OH an when JTL first came into game an there were no aces people worked together to get the first Ace's it was NOT done solo.
PS. A "hey dude let me gun for you I need exp..." in a PM just does not cut it, with me. For some reason when I get tell's like this I alwaysfind myself 2 busy to help the person. Now the person that is nice an asksif I have timefor a few questions an then proceeds to explain the problems he/she is having usually gets my help.

There are quite a few people on this board who will disagree with you on this point. Depending on how tonight goes, I may add myself to that list. I'm up to 4333, and I haven't had to get anyone else to help me yet. I can't see how this is likely to change anytime soon.

Same here, I just Aced Black Epsilon solo, every mission, including the vette, Though that damn Karthakk Queen did kill me once.

I bet go differ. With the exception of my first tier 4 exit mission and several Star Ravagers, I have reached ace entirely solo 12 times (including one toon with all 9 squadrons completed).
