Thread: Quick Poll: JSF/Grievous Do you even fly em anymore?

Ok, so like just about everyone else, I got my Eta 2 Actis, and my Bellubab and honestly... the "thrill" wore off after only a few flights. They're both tucked nicely away in my bank collecting dust.


Yeah, I know balance issues and deeding issues etc.. etc...


Honestly, they're cool ships but they don't "suit" me.


On the otherhand I love my Royal Guard TIE Intercepter. Same stats as a regular TIE intercepter plus about 30k mass. (Total of 80k). I always thought the intercepter needed decent mass so I'm thrilled with the look and feel of this ship.


Now, I don't want to start another "Ths JSF needs to be NERF'ed!" thread. But I am curious, how many of you pilots that own these ships have packed them away? I can see myself flying either the JSF/Grievous for a special occasion or something, but honestly... I'm an Imperial. I like to fly Imperial ships, IMHO niether of these two are Imperial Ships.

I never even named my JSF, much less launched it. It's fully loaded and ready to go, but I just can't seem to come up with a reason to use it. My Royal Guard TIE flies like a dream for me, why use anything else? Well, except for my lovely Decemator, which I've had a lot of fun playing with recently.

I actually find myself always using the Belbullab now, even when it's an unknown mission (and therefore risk damaging the chassis). My Krayt is the one collecting dust right now :\

Whatever. The Jedi Starfighter was under the control of the Republic when the decree that created the Empire was made. This resulted in everything owned by the Republic to become Imperial. The clones, the guns, the walkers, the officers, the Cap Ships and yes, even the jedi starfighters. While piloted by Jedi up to thatpoint, the designs used in it were carried over in the creation of the TIE fighter series. Some would say that the JSF was the father of the TIE series, and they would be right.


To say that it is not Imeprial is ridiculous.


Now the General's fighter isn't Imperial, but I think we all know that already.

I haven't used it much, but that's mainly because I'm temperorly not Ace. For my general fun and flying, I'll still use my JSF splitting my time between that and my Firespray and Decimator, but that's becauseI like the appearance of it as I've said before (working on getting one of the Hasbro toys, and repainting it to match mine). For PvP events, I doubt I'll use: wouldn't want to risk it for out of DS events, and the main crew of space PvPers on Ketteare going the route. I figure for PvP I'll use the Heavy TIE, for the camo/ surprise factor, or the RG Intercepter when required (ie - we want a squadron of Red TIEs for intimidation RP-PvP).

I love my grievous fighter. Even with 35k less mass it beats the pants off my heavy x-wing. (That might change once I have better components for the x-wing, though, I have a couple of level 8 engines and the reward engine from the starmap quest I am collecting parts to RE with, for example.)

In the greivous fighter I was able to solo my first tier 4 mission, which I had failed twice in my heavy X, using the same components. It's so much more nimble, I dodge blaster shots by *accident*, hehe.


Also, I love the classic muscle car look to it!

im not master pilot yet so i use my jsf for grinding xp and for helping friends grind their xp, basically powerleveling them in kessel by disabling ships for them.


I love my nekrosis ship this is what i did w/ it. put a 1200 max speed engine (best engine i have atm) huge shields uber armor. The first thing i thought when i looked at it was a space aged dodge viper. So no it doenst have guns or any offensive abilities. but its a hell of a fast space ride and its a nice break from the jsf when i just wanna hawtdawg around in space.. Kinda like amadala's chrome ship, doubt it has guns but uber engines hyper drive and hard core shields. Just for fun

Got the grievous, RE'd 2 level 7 guns and nym's reward shield, had the other stuff lying around. Blasted some tier 1's to get the feel. Went to endor death watch spawn and cleared it, went on to deepspace and finished off the ISD who was already down to the bridge at 70%. It's been collecting dust since. It's no match for the firepower and defenses of the heavy x withRE'dcomponents.

I put my level 8 RE'd engine (an old prenerf tier 4 reward) in my Bel-22 and... I think I cried. With overload 3, the sheer maneuverability of the craft left me no choice but to let loose the tears. I loved it so much thatI came up with this hairbrained scheme to remaster pilot just so I could get a nicer, lighter borstel disruptor than my old one RE'd, as I think I'd be able to manage to fit it and this exceptional RE'd level 6 gun that I've had sitting around.

the JSF is my mining ship. It will be deeded as soon as I bother to make myself a mining oppressor.


it's a nice looking ship, but less mass for a virtually identical buck than the heavy tie. plus, nowadays it kind of has a "training wheels" aura to it, not to mention one can't help but think of episode 3 when seeing it. ugh.

Ok, fine, they're Imperial.. it still suits me better to fly Iconic Imperial ships. IMHO a TIE fighter is more suited for me than the JSF. For me, my opinion, don't care what someone else is flying, don't care if someone thinks something is/isn't canon or what not.


Truly, the father of all TIE's and I have no problem with that at all... I just like the feeling of flying a TIE better. The marketting hype pulled me in for about a week and I flew the hell out of my JSF, it's a great little ship and I like it alot. I just prefer the original TIE's, the Heavy TIE (which I gave away! LOL!) or the Royal Guard TIE Intercepter.
