Thread: 4433 Freelance pilot (Corsec)
Two questions:
1) Are you running droid commands? Specifically Cap Overload and Shield Shunt?
2) Have you tried disabling a few of the ships rather than destroying them?

I'm running OC3 and CSS, and tried using OR3. I get it handed too me before I can even attempt to disable them. I'll try that again though, maybe if I try and take out the escorts first...

What are your aprox. shield and weapon stats? And what are your engines Y/P/R rates?
I'm using three blasters:
1) 1541.3-2513-1 .48/.48 27.2 .26
2) 1389.5-2911.9 .48/.48 23.1 .35
3) same as #2
Shield:
1924.2/1924.2 11.56
Engine:
61.7/57.9/61.7 102.2
I would also ask if you were disabling as you go? You have the first shot on these guys, pretty much. In this mission I generally do a head to head with the executioner and disable it, and then pick off the escorts from there (also disabling for speed). Disabling is a viable tactic when dealing with multiple Mobs, particularly if you Feel you are in over your head. It allows you some breathing room. NPCs do self destruct after a certain amount of time (possibly a few minutes, anyone?), so bear that in mind.
Getting in some stick time going up against multiple, Challenging Mobs is not a bad idea. There are many static spawns that could help you with this. Evasion, Disable, High PYR, as Kalia points out, the right Droid commands and good targetting skills are all a part of this.
You'll get there.
Grixxly, your PYR is very low. Try for 69 as a base minimum (Not capable with the crafted engines you can equip). While you have excellent speed, your ship will be sluggish in turns, making it harder for you to both evade and move into position for a clean, fast kill.
The Shield is nice, again, crafted. Nothing wrong there. Coupled with a good capacitor (energy pool) and a Cap Overload Program -- it's the space version of Heal. and your DI sets the timer between use (DI speed * 1 for CtSS).
Your weapons are a bit weaker than they need to be. The crafted version have a MUCH lower effectiveness than a very well RE'd lvl 6 or 7. Your DPS goes downhill because of it, and, isn't made up for by the much higher refire rate possible in crafted weapons, which, #'s 2 and 3 are not anyway, and, # 1 is only moderately so.
Some areas you can improve your loadout But you can still do this mission Fine, heck, more than fine, with your current set up. The biggest drawback here looks like your engines. Even so, this encounter is winnable in your ship If... you have Droid Commands. Are you using EO3 and WO3?

Ah-HAH! I see your problem.... with an engine like that in a Rhixarkxkxrxikx I'd be surprised you can tag anything, especially a tier 5. You need to be able to TUUUURN if you're planning on hitting anything (not to mention getting out of the way of their lasers). Look around for an average or better lvl 8 engine and you should see a marked difference in your ability to take out baddies.
I'll try that. I've been able to take 2 even 3 tier 5's before but these 5 are just kicking me all over space. Thanks!

My opinion differs on that, run EO3 with the engine he's running and use more of a jousting method instead of the traditional "Interceptor" style of dogfighting. It's more what the Rixk was designed for. Get in range fast and fast and blast the bits off them, then boost to get out of range even faster. CtSS......repeat. The Rixk is not a dogfighter, don't try to make it one.
Also I recommend changing blaster 2 and 3 to the quickfires, to get more hits on the big targets in the time on target

I don't have either of those commands and haven't been able to find any pre-programmed chips to buy. ![]()
BTW, just look on the bazaar for lvl 8 engine? Everyone I've looted so far stinks...
