Thread: 4433 Freelance pilot (Corsec)
As for finding a lvl 8 engine... you can start with the Nym's Starmap quest engine (Quantum Ion Drive) and then work at getting 7 more to RE from there.

Ah-HAH! I see your problem.... with an engine like that in a Rhixarkxkxrxikx I'd be surprised you can tag anything, especially a tier 5. You need to be able to TUUUURN if you're planning on hitting anything (not to mention getting out of the way of their lasers). Look around for an average or better lvl 8 engine and you should see a marked difference in your ability to take out baddies.
My opinion differs on that, run EO3 with the engine he's running and use more of a jousting method instead of the traditional "Interceptor" style of dogfighting. It's more what the Rixk was designed for. Get in range fast and fast and blast the bits off them, then boost to get out of range even faster. CtSS......repeat. The Rixk is not a dogfighter, don't try to make it one.
Also I recommend changing blaster 2 and 3 to the quickfires, to get more hits on the big targets in the time on target

Basically a FW190 boom-n-zoom technique?
Yeah, I was able to solo this encounter and later the 'vette master mission in a Ryxk using this technique on my alt.
Agreed it's MUCH easier in the Belbullab-22 with an RE'd 8 engine, personally if I were to do what he's trying to do again, I'd take a well outfitted dunelizard.
The small problem with jousting in Grixx's case is that while he's flying at one oponent, he'll be getting targetted by the four others. That could be problematic.
See, this is where technique, style, and perference comes into play. I know people that dogfight (very effectively even) in their Rhix. Personally, I don't like flying heavy/sluggish ships under any circumstance unless I really have to. When I first Aced I actually flew my 65k mass TIE all the way through tier 4 until I was doing the Ace lvl missions in Kessel, and that was months ago before I had good REed stuff.
Ture, a Dunelizard is not bad. 2 weapon slots, good mass, decent Manueverability. And, a good RE'd lvl 8 can't be beat... :/ I'm still collecting for mine. In the meantime, I've done Two Aces, 4 Pilot trees to 4 across the board, cleaned up all the fighters I find, every time, in DS, yada yada yada, and I've never had anything better than my 69.9/69.9/70.2 82.2 RE'd lvl 6 engine. I've used that one in a variety of chassis, though, I prefer the small and fast as opposed to big and sluggish ships.
What I don't find in the way of loot, I find by trolling the Bazaar. Some good deals, some bad
the good ones I buy up, and sock away, the bad ones...
well, they stay where they are.
Well I just tried again, and I killed the executioner but was waxed by the other 4... I can't get away from them at all! I was over 1k away from any of them and they were still hitting me, and HARD! Sometimes these missions are more frustrating than anything else... Any master pilots on scylla that can program some chips for me with WO3 and EO3?
I ran corsec and tbh i dont think any of those missions really challenged me.
For guns on that ship i was running a 2.5-3.6k unRE-d lv8, a 2.2-3k unRE'd lv8 and a RE'd lv6 or 7 with 1.5-2.2k
That takes up a heafty 70k mass but run WO3 and ships fall dead so quick it makes them look like t1's

I'm a Freelance on Scylla, so I can't help with the programs. I can however fly with you if you need. I won't be home until later today though, and I may or may not have time to get ingame til after 10pm eastern tonight. If I do get in I'll see if you're on then.
Thank you! IF I'm still on, that's a little late for me, I'm flying with my alt, SquareBob.
