Thread: Vaksai vs Belabubb 22 vs KSE firespray for PvE

Afternoon all i have a bit of a decision to make and i cant make it so im looking for some advice.

currently im switching back and forth between the B22 and my firespray and i cant make up my mind.

My b22 is loaded out with a decent ish engine a lvl 7 re'd gun a level 8 re'd gun(both great tho the 8 is much better stat wise) a great reward re'd shield and other bits and bobs.

my firespray has 4.4k max dmg lvl 10 blasters non re'd. a better engine. a 1100 pool 50.1 recharge capacitor. a good lvl 6 re'd booster. and other nice parts and has mass to spare.

now ideally i wanted to load another re'd lvl 8 blaster into my b22 because 1. i prefer being in a small fighter and 2. i love the sheer maneuverability of it against the black suns i fight fairly often.

however to do that i may well have to give up my nice shields as the b22 just doesnt have the mass spare. i'd lose about 600 points front and back if i drop down so am i likely to suffer because of that?

my other option is my firespray. now i like it but after flying the b22 for a while it feels a bit clunky and nasty. find it alot harder to stick to those black sun aces etc in this thing. but it does have the space for all my best parts and room left over.

then someone mentioned doing the quest for the vaksai. im a little hesitent on that one as it only has the 1 gun point. sure i could finally re my lvl 10 guns and stick them in but is that enough?

anyway im desperate for some opinions on this as i havent flown a vaksai and havent tested the b22 against the kse properly.

Please help!

VAKSAI!!!

Sorry, I just felt like shouting that. Get a big gun (since its only got one laser slot I believe) and an RE'd L8 or L10 engine. That thing moves like crazy, has high mass, and a decent profile.

The B22 is not bad, but clone era ships aren't my thing.

You can fly a Firespray....If you like getting shot. That thing is soooo big I don't think you can shoot a laser in the same space sector and miss it. In addition, it handles like a cow on a Booster Blue downer.

The only trouble I ever have in PvE is against the corvette.

Two gun slots make it weaker in short fighting than the Xwing and like ships, but for longer fights, two guns can deal impressive damage-sepecially with a 52 recharge cap.

I'd try all of the ships yourself and see what you prefer. However, one gun makes me think Awing...

It depends upon how long you want to "chew" your target to death. Will it compare to the two level 8 cannons that I have one a KSE? (one with 4.5k damage, one with 4.2k damage, both firing at a speed of 3 or less and drawing approximately 13-15 per shot)

Well, perhaps it can over time since there's not really much shield regen going on, but it can't stand in there for damage per second.

Once again, it comes down to preference. If I don't want to get hit I use an Awing. If I want damage to pound a target I use the KSE (though it is dicey going against the corvette, tier V gunboats aren't really much of an issue so long as they are singles). I am currently getting ready to work on getting the Kashyyyk ships so I can't really compare how those fare vs. the KSE, but I can say that it's nice to have a ship with the mass of a Bwing (nearly) with the handling of an Xwing.

i switch between a bel-22 with a pair of crafted level 7 guns (.270 speed, 2300 damage) and my adv x-wing with two level 9 crafted guns (.290 speed 3300 damage) and a RE'ed incom tri-cannon (.380 speed 3900 damage)for PvE. fighting black suns the bel-22 does good but they don't do a whole lot of damage so avoiding attacks isn't such a big deal, something with a little more punch in firepower like the krayt would probably be faster imo. i know my x-wing is about 30% faster in black sun duty missions for me.

i'm working on collecting the guns to RE another incom tri-cannon and a borstel disrupter to replace the two L9's in my x-wing, once i do i doubt i'll use the bel-22 for regular PvE stuff. replacing the L9's will even allow me to use my 2544/15.7 shield in my x-wing too

i would love to try setting up a vaksai purely for strafing runs on the corvette and gunships though, it wouldn't be the most efficient at it but i imagine it could be alot of fun but since i'm rebel i can't get one to try.

If you don't mind clone era ships... go with the Bel-22. its fast small and turns like a demon plus it has a really good weapon loadout. Unless you are REALLY good with big ships a gunboat or vette will eat you alive in a firespray. The vaksai is a great ship, although even with a RE L10 I never felt like it was as good for PvE (but it is a PvP monster)

Freelancers really got the shaft with high tier fast maneuverable ships so you don't have many choices if that is what you prefer. I always used my bel-22 for PvE.

so does it cut the firepower of a vaksai only having the one weapon point?

Yeah, true. Unless you have a moster RE L10 gun, you will be better off with the 2 guns the B22 offers for PvE.

Not for PvE. In PvP I'd go with the Vaksai and the L10 because you can just one shot disable/destroy people, but for pounding gunboats you'll get better DPS out of 2 L8s.

I have a L6 and L7 pair that I use that do6k+ but a 4.8k - 5k damage L10 should be enough to handle just about anything in PvE.
