The pilots of Starsider just finised our weekly Saturday PvP mission (resulting in a Rebel success, I might add). Estimated total of about 10-15 ships on each side. As an added treat, it seems Addy FRAPSed the entire battle and made an amazing video out of it. So, if you wish to see what its all about or check yourself out flying , move on over to this thread:

That was a great video! It's all clips of last night's event, intermixed with audio ripped from X-Wing Alliance. I'm amazing at the quality, considering it was all shot last night.

It was around a dozen pilots on the Alliance side (I believe it was thirteen, but our numbers shifted as the battle played out) and Resha said something about around the same on the Imperial side, although they had a Decimator, too. I think we had four relics on the Alliance side (three Actises and a Belbullab-22, although I could be miscounting), and two or threeImperial Actis Interceptors, plus two or three of those Royal Guard Interceptors. The rest of the pilots on the Rebel side were spread out between X-wings/Z-95s/A-wings and of course that insane B-wing, while the Imps were largely flying TIE Advanced/heavy TIEs with a single Oppressor. (TeamSpeak: "There's an Oppressor! Kill it!" Yes, we don't like Oppressors. )

im really thinking about moving some stuff over from bria so i can be competitive. my starsider toon is behind the times with post-nerf l6 re engine.

im thinking QID powered T/A with a proteco re shield, and a pair of l6 guns.

I think I'm going to work on getting a decent A-wing setup and shifting to using that...that, or going back to my X-wing. As long as the battles are fairly even in terms of numbers, I feel guilty using an Actis.

lol flying an xwing into a starsider pvp battle is suicidal. i remember the first starsider battle i was in. it was like fourty rebs vsthirty or so imps. almost all the rebs were in xwings. the battle was so condensed in a small area thatmy machine bogged down worse than when the ISD opens up in deep space. i got about 10 xwings, a couple ywings, a bwing, a rhik, and a nova in that event.

Heh...X-wings in battle are suicidal? Ask Stark his opinion of that. He was back last night and racking up kills in his old X-wing.

i always go for the x pilots first. they are dangerous if you let one get on yoru tail and pour fire at you, but they are so easy to take out if you attack them properly.

Gah!! You DO realize you now have made me want to move servers? It's such a shame I've recently unlocked, not to mention my huge collection of two years worth ot stuff... I couldn't leave Radiant.

X-Wing suicidal? I would have to disagree as well. I have always flown an X-Wing in these events and average about 5 kills per event vs about 3 deaths. Yesterday I had 6 kills and 2 assists with 1 death, so, quite frankly, I don't know what your talking about .

Don't do it Kalia!!!! Or I'd have to follow, and I have all this cool loot here that I'd miss!!!! And then I'd have to do shipwright all over again, and it took me months to get all those resources, lol.

Maybe I'll make a pure-pilot on Starsider, no ground commitments or anything. I'll just have to find a good shipwright to help me out.

That'd definitely be cool

I made this quick video as appealing as I could, because it having been my first space PvP event, I was simply blown away by howawesome it was.

All you die-hard pilots looking for some classic space combat action a la XvT or XWA should definitely check Starsider out. We boast the most Space events (so I'm told) with unique and interesting ground-basedRP twists.

I have to give mad props to the event organizers (like Halyn) that pulled this off, and hopefully this video will convince you, in the very least of cases, to check us out if you're ever feeling the urge to blast someone out of the skies!
