I was bugged on my heavy x-wing mission so last nighti decide well i might as well finish it...and i had done it 20 or so times before with a group... so i decide that hell i can do it by myself and it will be good practice to do my ace vette cuz i really wanna do my first ace badge solo just for bragging rights. Well needless to say i completed first try and it was really easy...i just had to brag to all my fellow pilots...cuz i remember the first time i did it with a groupi gotmy behind handed to me and at the time thinking it is impossible to do a corvette solo...geez how i have progressed in my thinking as a pilot...Now only ifWedge and Luke would let me joinRogue Squadronlol.

Soloing that vette is no big feat.

Get back to me when you can solo the vette's in Kessel.

As Zion says, soloing a vette the doesn't shoot back till you shoot it, is nothing to be that proud of. I don'y want to steal your moment of glory, but once you know how, it is rather easy. Now if you'd said, i solo'd the vette and the 3 tier 5 GB's as well, then I would doff my hat in great respect to you. So come back and tell us that, or that you have done the Kessel Vette, then you will get the kudos that you would rightly deserve

Oh, be nice! Congratulations! Take down a big target like the vette is always fun, don't let these guys poo on your parade. Just know there's always the next big challenge waiting for you out there, and in this case it's Kessel.

I wasn't trying to be nasty. i did say I didn't want to steal his moment of glory. it's just that the Kashyyyk Vette is a lot easier than people think. Of course, to solo the mission is a great feat, especially for a non-master. But hopefully, one they have done the kessel vette, and hopefully soon, he will see how easy the kash vette is compared to the real Mckoy. But a belated congrats for doing it the hard way

Some people still don't think the vette is soloable. I've run into people in Kessel who sware I'm lieing when I tell them I don't need any help when finishing off my many Aces. I've solo'ed 13 ACEs from start to finish, after awile it just became routine.

I agree. My first run at the Kessel vette had me all worked up, the group took it down... so a few days later, I figured "what the hell", and started messing around with it, now that I know how, I've soloed it 3 times. It's all just a matter of flying smart.

also agree. I often describe the corvette to those who're intimidated by it as a big puzzle... just have to take it apart piece by piece.

The Kessel 'vette really is quite a bit harder.

I soloed the Kashyyyk 'vette in a JSF, all crafted components, and without missiles or countermeasures. Just lasers.

If you plan on soloing Kessel 'vette, bring some Ordnance, it'll help a ton, since they don't need LoS to hit subcomponents.

I still have never used missles on the vette, imo its a cheap kill. All the turrets can be taken out without being hit anyway. Ususally I start off boosting for turret 5 taking it out in one pass and also bring the fighter escort with me. For the rest of the turrets just peek around the sides of the vette to take them out.

I also solo'd the kessel vette with nothing but lasers. Mostly though that was just because I didn't htink about ordnance since I've never really used em.

Soloed the kessel vette somewhere around 6 times, soloed the Kash vette, and soloed the vettes in DS waaaay too many times, heh. Never used missiles; just never needed them. There really is a simple pattern to the vette, it's almost a mantra: gun 5, primary shield, secondary shield, engines, turrets, reactor, bridge. First couple of times, was tough. After that, became instinct.

Not bad, not bad...now try it without taking out turrets first.

Last two vettes I've done were for friends who called me in to Kessel. Both times the vette was right by the jump out point, so we had to go to work on disabling it right away. Makes for a good workout dodging turret fire.
