My disabled grandma with no hands could solo the Vette with bomber strike and proton torpedos.

Some people still don't think the vette is soloable. I've run into people in Kessel who sware I'm lieing when I tell them I don't need any help when finishing off my many Aces. I've solo'ed 13 ACEs from start to finish, after awile it just became routine.

The corvettes don't bother me much, just get behind then, and launch away. But, as a rebel, how do you deal with the gunboats? I'm more worried about the gunboats than I am the Vette. I've solo'd the kessel Vette as an imperial, and I agree the Kashyyyk Vette is much easier (although I did have some help with that one). I just need to figure out how to do the Vette as a rebel, and how to deal with those Imperial gunboats.

Same way you deal with rebel gunboats - there's an arc underneath them where they can't hit you, make straffing runs against that area. That, or sit back at 550 meters and hit them from out of their weapon range (weeny method).

If they start to buckle and fly all over the place, sit back bit and wait for them to calm down.

makes perfect sense to me. star destroyers are carriers. carriers are runways with repair shops, mess halls, and sleeping quarters. even in real life once you get past the fighter defense they're easy to sink with a single missile.
