Hi there.

Last night on Bria was some very good pvp in deep space, in fact the best time I ever had in Deepspace because everyone was totally cool to each other on both sides of the game. Thanks to all those involved.

However, it got me thinking and actually searching the forums rather than pestering Dumicus' toon in game.

I have noticed that Starsider seems to be getting a lot of good JTLS usage, so I feel inclined to promote this on Bria also.

Bria's JTLS is growing quite well and I think with a bit of organisation, could really boom.

I propose this.

Its like a player event which happens three times a week. I am calling it 'Battlestations M,W,S'

The M,W,S stands for Monday, Wednesday and Saturday, because these are the days I think would be good for this unnoficialy event to happen.

Ok then, so what is this event? Well. I will need help in this, cooperation from faction leaders and respected Bria Pilots.

I suggest though that each week we can have a theme and we take it in turns [factions that is] for choosing what the theme is.

I think for the first few runs [if this happens] we should have both sides with the objective of seeing who can take out the Stardestroyer or Freedom Station first. Whoever kill sit first wins the round.

Ok then, so you're thinking 'Ha! I can solo the ISD or Station in 2 minutes'.

Think again. I think we should be flying with a limiter on participant weaponary.

[This of course is where all the cooperation comes into play and why I am suggesting specific nights for this event to happen]

I personally think [although feel free to make suggestions. I am always more than happy to be given suggestions and constructive criticism] that the limits should work like this.

Novas, Yt1300s and Decimators should be allowed lvl 7 guns maximum.

Fighters should be allowed lvl 4 guns maximum. [I flying an A-wing know that a lvl 4 gun is going to be like a pea shooter..so for pvp it should be pretty fun]

Also, I think that Fighters should be rationed to a single Ordnance launcher with a maximum of flying with only mk1 ordnance.

There shouldn't be a limit on MP ship ordnance. Just no reloading.

As for overloads, well. It is too hard to track who or not is using them so I think they should be allowed. True, if you're using weapon ol 3 your cap will never drain and yeh furballs may last a long time if people have shield shunt, but isn't that what people want? Longer space battles with no 'dying in one shot?'

As I said before, for this to work, we'll need a lot of patience and cooperation, but I -really- would love this to happen and regularly.

The fun thing is, with lesser weapons, you'll be able to fit better shields too which should make up for the fact that the aggro in DS will be harder to kill, but you'll be harder to kill also.

Also, with having the ISD and station as the objectives, then people should'nt be too obsessed with how many plyer kills they get as the amount you get isn't important. This is about teamwork and having fun.

If interested, send me an ingame email in Bria to Leaph Chausew.

[The use of MP ships will let non masters play too so yay].

I'll be flying in DS tonight on my own with lvl 4 guns to see hwo long it'll take me to do te ISD.

Oh yeh. If this happens, I also suggest for furthering the challenge that noone makes use of the blindspots on either objective. It'll make the game last longer this way and make it seem a bit more realistic.

Thankyou for you time .

It's possible to do just about anything with dedicated ppl. If you can find 20 ppl who are willing to only mount lvl4/7 weapons and meet in deep space and battle honorably that is great. But DS is open to all and unless u can control other players (greifers) coming in with lvl 8+ guns and completely owning most of the ships out there not many ppl are going to be interested. Plus destroying the rebel station bugs deep space until next server reset. It's a fine idea but currently the game content doesn't support it.

I was trying to setup something like this on Ahazi as well and came to realize that there isn't any reward in it and it is very difficult to find the interested players in game. What we need is a special zone that opens up at certain times (M,W,S) and has entrance requirements (lvl 4 / 7 guns) for this to have any hope of drawing players. Plus there needs to be some reward for killing other players. (IF nothing else just some xp and faction points if overt)

I'd also like to see an in game registration system so that if ppl are interested in an event like this they can sign up and ppl can see how many others will be there. (This should probably be run by a coorespondant or dev or csr or someone associated with swg.)

Points taken but the wholepoint of it is just to have fun and the reward is that with flying lesser equipment, you'll improve your flying a lot more.

I know the deal with the rebel staiton however, once the Stardestroyer is blown up, it actually resets so it isn't an issue.

With two sides going after both targets, if the rebel station is taken out first, the Imps win and all we got to do is wait fo the rebs to blow the ISD up so it resets everything.

I was going to set up a house and call it the Pilots lounge so after the events, everyone regardles sof faction can come and chat etc, get to know each other.

Hey its just an idea

I've always liked that kind of idea, but the griefer potential is quite high. Generally pilots tend not to grief very much, however in that situation even one or two bad eggs will really spoil your fun. It is worth a try, though.

sounds like fun.

Heh figures though, right as im about to hang my PvP hat up.. all of a sudden it picks up again on bria. bah.

Party crashers might be a problem. *shrug* dunno, bria's full of d00d3z, but 95% of them are on the ground, so who knows.

I dunno if id be there or not, or if im one to pester or not. I work swing shifts so i miss out on alot. That and im really in a middelground right now. About the only thing that keeps me from changing factions is the thought of the RG/TI. ONce ROTW goes live, i might end up either going civillian/Corsec and do the space mining thing, or go rebel.. its occured to me that the B wing would make a pretty damn good mining ship.

Yeh.

More or less, I agree there with the gatecrashers, however after dueling a good few TIE Advanced pilots earlier...I'm wonderingif using lvl 4 guns would just make furballs last for eternity hehe.

You can reduce the griefing potential by having guards on each hyperspace points who are equipped normally and can take out possible griefers. Also not doing it in deep space might help

We did a multi-player ship only event last week, with weapons restricted to crafted cert level 5, no weapons. It went well, and was fun, though one single X-Wing took out 4 decimators before the rebels on the other side could explain to him that it was a planned event.

I'm thinking on Bria it may work. I mean, there are a fair few people who fly overt etc, however its just gettign them together and I hit DS every night [mor eor less] and I always find the same enemies so if they cooperate and talk to the less experiened Aces into coming up for some fun in the sun [or not sun..since it is Deep space and not in a planetary system...] it could work, maybe. We'll see.

I'll send out an email spam fashion [without being annoying to every pilot I see this week in Bria.

Ok cool.

I guess all I/we can do then is just experiment. It won't hurt since there is no official ranking system [part of the reason I don't mind people hurtling missiles at me].

I guess from tryiing things out, we'll see wha works out and what doesn't.

Communication is critical though in game, along with cooperation. I'll personally be happy to go with what works for the majority.

[Is it just me or does JTLS currently feeling like a nature reserve? Since there are seemingly so few trying to protect it hehe]

I heard there was more good pvp happening on Bria last night, but I couldn't attend due to my character's wedding. [aww]

The most important thing i find is a definate starting time. If you want to hold a briefing give them only the time for the briefing and not when you will launch. If you just want some fun dogfighting thoughgive them the time you guys will be there.

I also tried out email briefings with all the relevant information but a lot of these informations change, depending on how many people you have.
