Thread: Massive Deep Space Exploit/Bug

I don't know what's going on but, I was just in Deep Space merrily destroying any Rebel I came across. Quite suddenly, Rebel ships started poofing before they could be destroyed. I didn't think much of it so I moved on and came across two other fellow Imperial players looking for Rebels. We all headed towards the Rebel station and I engaged a group of B-Wings. Within a few seconds I was destroyed, like if I had been hit with a PvP twin cannon blast. Since I'm paranoid, I always check for enemy players before getting near the station and there was nothing. I came back to Deep Space and headed back towards the station. The other two Imperials were flying back towards the SD so I turnedaround to see it firing in all directions, and it's systems were quickly decaying, and was destroyed shortly after. All three of us parked near where the SD was, wondering what was going, and we all died. I filed a CSR ticket on it but I doubt that will give us any clue. I don't know if this is some bizarre exploit of the Jedi cloak skill or just some freakish bug, but it's game-breaking for us Aces.

It is not just out in Deep Space. It is out in regular space too. I have a reble friend that actuly was in DS and fired one shot to let me know he was there. I could not see him nor could I target him even using "/target <playername>". He was just not there. We even grouped and I could not see him. He could have killed me and I would have never known he was there. He was able to take the SD out so many times it was not even funny. Either this is a major bug/exploit or it is a new feture for them. If so I think I will turn reb. LOL

Well what I put in my post is all the info I have at the moment. The fewrebs that I talked to about it are very tight lipped about it. For fear of being reported or banned. They all where unawear of how it was happening or why. I know one of the guys I talked to said he is invisable and untargetable from the moment he launches into space from any starport anywhere. So untill we get a reb on here to talk about this then we are stuck. I am not going to "rat out" the rebs I know because I have to fly with them every day LOL.

If they don't know how it's happening, they shouldn't be worried about being reported or banned. If they're using it intentionally, however, that's another story.

Actually, if anyone has any more information on this, please PM me rather than posting it.

Not experienced this myself, but I was cloaked from cover after being killed on land whilst under cover. I cloned, and bingo, was still invisible except for a floating T-21. It sorted itself out once I logged in the next day, and haven't seen this since. Pardon the pun.

The one who was doing it to us was doing it on purpose. The Star Destroyer was being destroyed over and over.

how do you know he knew he was invis??? what would you do/ think if you went to the reb station and attacked it and it didnt fight back.. or you see 3 reb pilots and they seem not to have noticed you yet.. you shoot them .. now after a few deaths and the other guys never fire a shot or get into a turn with you you should start to think something is up... just because you died and the SD blew up over and over does not mean the guy knew what was going on.....So now what for these people that are bugged and invis all the time up there? Can they not play in space now?

This sounds like a repeat of a very old bug on the ground. There were a number of ways to turn invisible to other players. I think one was ejecting from a house or running through a wall into nothingness. It used to happen all the time a few months after release. It was fixed a long time ago on the ground but may have cropped up in space. The only way to fix it was to log.

could this be a general server glitch, not just space?


yesterday i saw a gurl stuck half in the floor at cnet sp. we see ppl all the time on ground not moving and figure they're just chatting atm. i im'd her and she said she was on dant riding her bike and reported it must b a glitch for me to she her still at cnet.


dunno, just saying...



*edit: oh yeah, never thought to ask if anyone could see her on dant.

now that i think of it, something strange did happen in DS the other day, charged up my heavy-x and jetted into DS, i was setting my shield to reinforce therear and i was diving on a decinator when all the sudden i blew.


being kinda miffed that a pve actually killed me, i jumped back in again, firing 2 4700+ damage blasters i normaly take it out on the first couple of vollies... now i pvp in space, thats all i do when i go up, so in-between looking for imperial pilots i'll take out an occational pve ship for FP... suddenly, it happened again, was diving on a target and blamo, the next thing i know im loading.


jumped in a third time, and it was just to laggy to smoothly kill anything, but never once did i see any other live pilots in the area. and im toggling the Y and Z keys constantly looking for one.
