Thread: These reactors I keep hearing about...

I keep hearing and reading about reactors that pump out like 30k-40k, but I have yet to see one drop, or see one for sale.
What are they called, and are they Kessel/DS only ultra-rare drops?
Any elightenment would be greatly appreciated

I am a loot addict, there is nothing more satisfying than blowing up a civilian ship for creds, or a level 1 black sun for cheap parts.
But seriously, I read about this the other day. I heard they are rare, extremely and you can only get them by killing other pilot ace NPC's.
Correct me if i'm wrong.

Congratulations, you're wrong. 
They are called Kuat Systems Engineering RCT-Z, they are level 8 reactors, and they can have stats the run from the worse you've ever seen to so nice they'll make you crap yourself. I've looted several from as low as tier 3 normal spawns, and the worst I've ever found had an output of 2k, the best had an output of 36k.

Have fun with the search. I picked up a "special" level 8 reactor a while back.
Sadly, it was one of those 0.0 output ones.

you can loot them from basicly anywere, i got my 25k gen rate from a tier 3 on a duty mission

I looted a 30k reactor from one of the merc cruisers in Kashyyyk space. I've been trying to loot another one but to no avail so far. I doubt it matters what you kill to get it, a friend of mine looted one from a grahg fighter in kash space about 3 days before I got mine, so it's pretty much luck of the draw.

I got one the other day from one of my duty mission kills. 33k reactor output. Nova Courier material there

Just looted this one last night while helping a friend run the Kashyyyk Space Station escort missions. Dropped off Tier 2-4 Ghrag ships.

The Slayn Korpyl mk3 level 7 is also one that drops in big numbers, I looted a 10k mass, 38.9 k gen one about a month ago.

There is also a L7 rector that can spawn high power.
Both L7 and L8 drops are typicla mass for the level. 15-20 for the 7, 20-30 for the 8, roughly.
