Alright, so I've beenon a fewtripsin both ships. Being a 4/3/3/3 Freelance pilot myself, I was very excited about seeing the YT-1300 the first time...after a few more trips I began to feel...dissapointed, in it. There's no room for any sort of customization, in the Courier and even Decimator, there is an extra room (or two!) that you can really customize - in the YT-1300 there really isn't one. It feels pretty cramped inside it, to be honest; especially the cockpit.
Just curious on other peoples' views of both ships - pros and cons. What they fly like, if you've flown them, how you like their looks and feel inside.
To be honest, if I could fly a Decimator and not be an Imperial - I would, it's my hands-down favorite...but I hate the Empire
. So, I'm chosing between these two.
Thanks for any input, of any kind
.
Let the discussion begin.

Ahh yes - if anyone could post a few shots of a breifing room or some other sort of cool customization they did in their YT-1300, that'd be helpful

There's somewhat of a pro's con section in the multiplayer ship guide at the top of the forums. Overall on looks, I perferred the yt, even though theres not a lot of room theres a lot more details in it, and its easier to dogfight in, then the big bulky decimator it looks funny chasing an a-wing around, other then that the decimator for me just seemed to be more usefull in space then the yt-1300, which has a huge learning curve to the pilot. Especially since only privateers can sit in the ops chair, whereas in a anova or in a decimator anyone can sit in the ops chair.

due my last trip in a friends YT i found out that i was able to use the FlightComputer from a gunners position (being a rebel master). i was also able to use IFF.
InSpaceRepair came up with an error telling me that i cant call repairships from a gunner seat.
in depth testing when i get my crews together.
comparing the interiors i would say the Nova or decimator have may more possibilities of decorating the ship.
though i would not suggest to overdecorate is since you lag out your engineers and make it more difficult to access the repair hatches and conduits. another point to keep in mind is that your ship has a 75 item limit. that includes the loot box. so the more furniture you place the less you can loot before you reach the item limit.
from the style perspective nothing beats the YT in dogfights. the only problem is the lack of the 3rd missle launcher.

While I have not tested it yet, I did read in another thread that you will contuinue to pick up loot into the loot box even if you are over the ship's75 itemlimit. As long as there isn't 75 items in the loot box you are ok. If you have over 75 for the lootbox and items placed in the ship then you can not drop any more in the ship.

The nova courier seems bigger on the inside, and it quite a bit bigger on the outside. Other than that there isnt really any difference, their all only as tough as a fighter :/

To be honest with when I first got my YT-1300 I was really disappointed with the inside of it. However after being in a few battles where it was just me and another person I really like it. The way it is layed out I can hit all the repair items, jump from cockpit to turret, or to the ops chair really fast. Since it is a just a big circle it is pretty easy to do. I don't keep any decorations in there at all (this was all I was dreaming about doing will grinding up the tree too). Overall it really grows on you and it is also much more effecient in battles with a smaller crew then the other ships.

I have only flown on the YT-1300 and of course my Decimator.
A few observations when it comes to interiors...
The Decimator has plenty of room. IN my case almost too much! LOL! On the main deck there's the bridge and access to the turrets and lower decks. Below there are 5 rooms total. 2 quite large, an observation deck (marvelous!), and 2 side rooms where the escape pod's are located. Well, you'd be surprised how fast that 75 item limit gets used up on this ship.
Now, I have also gone up on a guildies YT-1300 a few times. He hadn't started filling up the interior yet. In my opinion they really needed to do something different with the floorplan here. There's really no "big" rooms and the space is divided badly. Now, be happy they pulled the "stock" furniture out back in beta. The furniture was very cool and authentic looking, but you couldn't move it! It was just wrong. We did request that the furniture as well as the chessboard be made player craftable.... obviously that never happened. I could point everyone to the old floorplans of the YT-1300.
Truth be told it's not supposed to be a roomy ship. 2 small office sized rooms big enough for a desk and chair off to the left side of the ship with access to the escape pod's. Two additional small rooms (maybe for storage) seperated in the middle by a slightly larger room (where the chess table was situated front and center in the round part of the ship). Also 1 extremely small office type room on the right side near the escape pod access as well (only 1 office on that side due to the bridge jutting out where office #2 would be...)
It would be nice to see the YT-1300 a bit more "genuine" but I can't imagine they're going to change this now. We are locked into these floorplans for our ships as well as locked into the 75 item limit. I must say, all in all the YT-1300 is a good ship. Sturdy, and just as viable as any other POB ship right now. That being said.... I'd never trade my Decimator for one!

Having spent considerable time in all 3 ships my vote goes to the YT. I find it to be the easiest to navigate (the rooms are not nearly as small as some would have you believe), and the hit profile is MUCH smaller thana Nova. As far as pics for decorated YT's interiors hit this link up.

In my oppinion, the YT-1300 is an ugly ship. I much prefer the Nova Courier.
However, if the devs add in a YT-2000, I'd be all over that ship.

Lets not forget that the YT-1300 only has 2 missile hardpoints while the Nova and Decimator have 3.
