Thread: YT-1300 vs. Nova Courier....?

Wow some of those are pretty nice. But I think I will leave it just the way it is. I might throw a few tool chests or a table and some chairs but thats it. The last thing I want to do is make it hard for my crew to see the access panel and conduit points. Function is very important to me.

I am a 4444 Rebel Pilot, i was at one point a 4333 Freelancer. I have flown in both ships. Although the Nova has more open spaces, I like the YT-1300 so much more. It's rooms are cozy, and provide feeling of a spacer being in a ship for days on end, delivering a shipment of illegal weapons to jabba's mercenaries...for a price. I like the YT's cockpit more too. Go for the YT! Its soo cool to look at!

There are many things to consider about the YT-1300. Its not a fighter its a transport. SO if youre expecting a really great fighter, look elsewear. But if yorue expetcing a good frighter/transport you have an excellent ship. It has enough space inside to accomadate maybe 12 people including a crew(6), and two main cannons to defend the ship while the pilot engages in evasive manuvers. And it has enough mass for heavy armor, heavy shields, heavy cannons and a big engine. Its the most manuverable out of the nova and decimator( i think). This is the best ship in terms of mass to manuverableity. Its almost as manuverable as some fighters but can hold alot, which is why it makes a good transport turned fighter. And the interior isnt desined for luxory it was designed for functionality. As someone said above, its really easy to go from the piltos chair, to the gunners eat, to the plasma conduits back to the pilots seat. It can be run entirely on a one man crew although for the most fun I recomend having a crew of 6 pilot, co pilot two gunners and one or two repairman. You really feel what han and shewi feel when your ein deep space with 10 teir 4 fighetrs on your ass. Although the decimater and nova arent bad ships, I would pick the yt because of its more combat usefullness. Im sure ther eis a reason why han stuck with the yt and dint upgrade to say a yt-2400 when the yt-1300 is outdated. BUT untill they bring in the yt-2400 ( mor emanuverable and more combat ready than the yt-1300) The yt is the ship Ill be happy to fly everyday. And Im glad to see they fixed the cockpit ramp for the game version of the yt-1300.

I was having a hard time doing any decorating my YT, nothing fit style wise. Now with the new loots I love the cantina chairs. Now i'm decorating it with those plus a gaming table. Little bit like the movies.

In Beta it was auto-decorated with some cool furniture, but people whined so it got nerfed away.

I wish we had an option to turn it on - the droids and extra furniture really made it look cool.

I'd love to see a screenshot of that. I've decorated mine some, but I'm curious as to how it was "supposed" to look.

The only complaint I have is that the YT has 1 less ordinance slot than the Nova or Decimator.... I think they are equal in all other stats.

but even then I love my YT and I while that ordinance thing is a beef.... its nothing to keep me from being a master privateer.

I like the interior of the YT... very easy to move around and not very easy to get lost... afterall its just a donught. I think that has the added bonus for repair crew to get to trouble areas fast.

I havent had the pleasure of being part of a Nova or Decimator crew but ive gunned for the YT and I really like the visibility i have. The Nova looks like the nacells would get in the way... but i cant really say from my experience.

*EDIT*

I will say this too... the cockpit in the YT.... bad... being off center like that makes for first person piloting of it... odd at best... Nova and Dec cockpits look centered and that is a lot better imo. still love my YT

However, if the devs add in a YT-2000, I'd be all over that ship.

If they ever add the YT-2000 I automatically become that branch of pilot... If I had to switch faction... so be it.

Uhm, the Decimator is the only one of the three with a center cockpit. The YKL-37r's cockpit is in the port pontoon, completely opposite of the YT-1300's starboard cockpit.

i tested this last night in my friends YT. you keep looting even after its full(the ship that is not the loot box)

That is great to know!
Thanks!

I personally chose to fly Rebel for the Nova itself.
Entirely for style purposes though.
The YT is just too connected to Han Solo for me.
I know it's a cargo ship... but you have to remember... people didn't think that ship looked like anything more than a bucket of lousy ship parts. "You came in THAT thing? You're more brave than I thought."
Of course they were wrong (But that's what made it so much fun).
As far as I'm concerned, the YT has been done and no one can do it better than Han.
I wanted my own ship, that I could put my own stamp on.

I sure wish I had taken pics of the YT in beta though... it really did look nice with the custom furniture.
I'd love to grab both seat types from the second Vet Reward... I'm pretty sure those were in there in beta.

May the force be with you.

I've got a Nova. Definitely like it. The main big room in the front of the ship is excellent for decorating, as is the smaller one next to it. The engine room is pretty pointless though, and there the cooridor to the other side of the ship doesn't lead anywhere. Overall though, I really like it, and I'm glad I went with rebel instead of neutral (as far as MP ships go anyway).

I think the best part about the Nova and the Decimator is that they both have at least one large room for the crew to gather in. The YT doesn't really have this, and its just not as fun. I think the coolest thing about my Nova is the idea that I have a big breifing room with tons of seating around the edges etc, and then a sleeping quarters with a bunch of beds in it. It really feels like a crew of 5-6 people could actually be living and working in there. I think this holds true wtih the Decimator as well, but its hard to imagine anyone really living in a YT.

As for combat, I think the TY is definitely the coolest and best looking though.

Actually, that corridor leads to the starboard pontoon, which houses your shield controls.

As for the last guy who mentioned the YT-1300 has been done, I agree. I wish they hadn't included it, and opted for a different freighter for the Freelancer. It's not like its an uncommon ship. Quite the opposite, its fairly common, but its old and outdated. The only thing that made the Millenium Falcon a worth-while YT-1300 was the extensive modification that had been done to it beyond what we're capable of in this game. If I had to choose between a stock YT-1300 and a stock YKL-37r, I'd go with the Nova Courier. If I had to choose between the stock YKL-37r and the Millenium Falcon, well, I think you guys get the picture.

Anyway, it just gets on my nerves that so many people in game think that all YT-1300s are the Millenium Falcon.
