Thread: My heavy X-Wing is decaying FAST

Got my heavy X-Wing and took it on a mission. After one Tier 4 mission with a guildie of mine I had lost 200 Chassis Condition on the 2000 that it starts with.

At this rate, I can take my new X on about 10 missions then it's dead.

Is the decay rate bugged or is it intended that the Heavy X is only supposed to be around for a small amount of time?

I think it's only supposed to be around for a short while, since the new ships are kinda surperior to the old ones, and so that we'll buy any future expansions with new ships

Don't die, then it doesn't decay. If you do die, repair in deep space. Then you don't have decay.

Ship chassis and components shouldn't ever decay below 10 HP. At 10 chassis HP, you'll die if you slam the door too hard once your shields and armor are down, but you should never see your ship completely destroyed by decay.

Only once all your shields and armor are down. I've had any number of close shaves where I've taken slight component damage where you'd probably die with a chassis with only 10 HP, but basically the only time that will become a factor is when you're already well into a bad situation.

Yeah, but still, a good chassis can sometimes get you those extra few seconds you need to captoshieldshunt

You can always ADK one if you are worried...right? Or can ships not be ADKed?

Gripe upward; these ships should be craftable. Then replacability wouldn't be an issue. People wouldn't be so afraid of decay. I argued this in the shipwright forums for better component stats. The engines and capacitors got stat boosts, finally making the prenerf reward engine obsolete. After the crafter candy, ROTW was realeased. They repeated their earlier mistake.Apparently SOE didn't learn their lesson about decay-o-phobia.

Can't insure space chassis or components, thus can't ADK them.

yeah, SOE used to rant and rave about a fully player driven economy and how everything is craftable, then they start making all these non-craftable reward items. WTH?
