Thread: New ships re-deeding
Whether the ship was flown by clone-troopers or not is entirely immaterial. That was 20-ish years ago. The person that has control over the surviving craft in SWG's present is Rebel-sympathetic, ergo the quest is rebel. Simple.
That said, I'd like it more if there were options for Rebels and Imperials and neutrals to get these quests regardless. Perhaps by completeing a previous quest to obtain fake Imperial/rebel ID papers.

Well, I must admit, after using this week to get to 4444 Vortex Ace Pilot, I am PISSED...
So let me get this straight...I can get the Grievous Starship, and use it no problem... but as a Rebel Jedi, the ONE item designed SPECIFICALLY for us to acquire requires that I JOIN THE FACTION THAT WANTS ME ERADICATED?
FIX THIS PLEASE!

Actually, it's not for Jedi only. Us normals can fly it, and having the Force doesn't help you at all in Space. If you did the mission you would know that Darth Vader hands you the deed to the ship and then tells you to go blow up a rebel fleet.
Wow ... glad to hear the re-deed issue is being put through sooner or later.
I can't believe all the rebels and nuets crying about not being able to get the "Jedi Starfighter".
.....can we imperials have anything? .. I mean seriously the closest I can recall to this is the ones complaining about not having any ships with more than 2 gun slots to use for mining.
I'm not seeing Imperials cruising around in Kessel in thier "Jedi Starfighter" sighing, man.. I wish I had an ARC.
You pissed and moaned about one of our TIE's having a rear turret .... well you got a fighter with 2 turrets now.
We got ... more of the same. Don't get me wrong it's a neat little fighter, the expandable ion collectors are cool to toy with. But aside from loading it up and heading out to crush the rebel fleetunder Lord Vaders direction, I think about 30 minutes later I was back in my usual TIE.
The ship is given to you personally by Vader to confirm your superiority as you crush the rebel fleet.
---- would we have avoided all this "no fair" if they had simply named it "Vader's Starfighter"? Or is this more a product of the "Oh, I saw that in a movie once so I need it" mentality?
I'd rather focus on the new mining ship ... you know .. the one that can't mine.
Problem

Anything you can say about the Jedi Starfighter Quest only being available to Imperials? Is that as intended?

Personally I think they got the ARC and the Jedi fighter backwards.
Follow me on this:
ARC 170 was flown by whom? A. The clone troopers. What happens to clone troopers after E3? They join the growing ranks of the storm troopers. Where do the ARC 170 therefore end up? With the stormies.
Jedi Fighter flown by whom? A> The Jedi. What happens to them after E3? They scatter to the winds, preswumably taking their ship with them.
I really have no lust either way for these, I just find it an amusing oversight.

Will that also include removing the "must have completed the mission to fly it" requirements?

Actually, you're a bit right, and a bit wrong. So, let's follow the inevitable conclusion of yor logic:
The ARC-170 is a clone ship, and the clone troopers are transformed into the Imperial Stormtroopers. Therefore, Imperials should get the ARC-170.
The Jedi Starfighter was flown by Jedi, but the Jedi Starfighter in SWG is the personal ship of Anakin Skywalker, who became Darth Vader, the second in command of the entire Empire. Therefore, Imperials should get the Jedi Starfighter.
Seriously, I figure the ARC-170 is probably a fixed-up version of a downed ARC-170 from the Clone Wars. The Jedi Starfighter, however, is described as Anakin's personal ship. I doubt Vader would just hand over the keys to anyone but a proven Imperial pilot.
I don't find any problem with factions getting one or the other. I wanted the ARC-170 myself, but I'm not too broken up about not being able to get it. The Eta2 fits my style more, anyway.
