Curious about what kind of shields you've all seen/owned. The best I've seen is an REd lvl 8 shield with 17.43 regen and 2568/2487 shield hitpoints. (or whatever they call em)

I will update it with my EXACT stats next time I log ingame!

post a screenie.....how old is that? 3900 f/b means it was probably REd back when rebel shield alignments carried over into REing...ive never seen anything that came close to the T8 reward shield's f/b rating ever drop

Would agree that's got to be an old "exploited" shield and frankly should be removed from the game if so because they are entirely unbalancing...well...guess we'd have to have some balance to unbalance really...
My reward shield re'ed to the standard 2555 f/b and a nice regen of 18.17.

Remove the new ships except the Xwing and Interceptor from the game then I may voluntarily give up this shield!
And for your information I never knew of a RE shield exploitation bug, and if this was the case wouldnt the shield then have different front/back points as you can only boost either front or back on 1 particular shield at a time?

Don't get too defensive, you can have your shield; it doesn't really bother me, but it was in fact not the way the devs intended shields to be re'ed (or at least now how they wanted if done after they saw the giant shields that were resulting.)
The process was really very simple: get the biggest front shield you can find, set extreme front command on it, do the same thing with the best back shield you can find, re them with other shields and you have uber shield.
The only reason I think they should be forceably taken away is that it's clearly not fair to any person who was not around during the days of that system. I was around then and have my own ubar shield with more than 4k f/b, but I have stored it and it will never again be fitted into any ship. Not only is it just not fair during pvp, I don't find being completely invulnerable in pvp or pve any fun at all.

Wasnt that shield for sale on the forums not so long ago at around 7 million? (or at least it was another one of the same era)

2555/2555
17.x regen
15k mass
Lv8 RE'd reward shield, stuck it together for a friend who carries it in whichever TIE he happens to be flying that day.
Mine is similar, except for a 25k mass (but as a freelancer, doesn't really bother me)

The best legitimate shield your likely ever going to see is an RE'd L8 reward shield taht comes out to 2555 F/B.
If your very patient, its possible to go a little higher than that with an RE'd L10.

no sense in complaining about the unfairness of the shield. there's no pve challenge post master (certainly none where a 3900 shield would garner an unecessary advantage) and in pvp a 2 hit shield compared to a 1 hit shield won't mean much either.

I take it you have stored your prenerf engines and DIs as well?

You would be surprised at its usefulness. It can make things more fun in that you can be a bit more crazy in blowing things up. Though it is pretty well balanced as it has a BIG handicap. Shield shunt is nowhere near effective on this as on any other shield I have and boy does it drain your capacitor!
