You would be surprised at its usefulness. It can make things more fun in that you can be a bit more crazy in blowing things up. Though it is pretty well balanced as it has a BIG handicap. Shield shunt is nowhere near effective on this as on any other shield I have and boy does it drain your capacitor!

Try not to sound too silly, shunts are just as effective. Just because the bar doesnt move as much, doesnt mean you're getting less, since the bar is a percentile guage. if you're adding 700hp f/b to a 3800 hp shield the jump is a lot smaller than when you add 700 hp to a 1900hp shield. Also, theamount of cap drain is based solely on the shunt program you use, not the shield. I call shenanigans on this so called handicap post.

What I meant was that Shunts are not as effective as propping your shield power up to full as they are with lower systems, If you get overextended in battle - say 20+ Tier5 fighters and your shields are low you really do have to choose between shields or shooting which you wouldnt have to do with a 2000 f/b shield!

And not having shield shunt as effective doesnt really bother me as i flew for months without it. Oh, and what the hell does the bit in red mean?

And if the amount of Cap drain is based SOLELY on the program used - how come everytime i use it it drains a different amount?

If we're talking about illegitimate shields, than shifted level 8 reward shields with 3832 f/b are for the most part the best possible. However, back when you could still do the shield trick I RE'd a level 10 to over 4000. If we're talking about shields RE'd without the trick, then a regular RE'd level 8 reward shield is usually the best anyone could ever get, however I have RE'd a few legitimate level 10s to be slightly higher. I've seen level 10s drop with over 2700 protection, which will let you break 2800 after REing. You need at least 2830 pre-RE to be able to break 3000.

mine is 3832 f/b...best you could possibly do I belive would be like a lvl 10 with 4100- 4200 f/b with the old exploit.....but honestly a 3800 donts give you that much of an advantage in pvp...it gives you teh same advantage as flyign an a wing does, two shots youre still dead.

Get a better cap, I use CtSS4 which empties my cap and that cause half a second fire delay. No need to choose since it takes half a second to aim at the next target anyway. And it's just as effective, you just got a bigger pool to fill. If you drop 2000 cap energy on a 2000/2000 shield with front gone, it's full again. If you drop 2000 cap energy on a 4000/4000 shield you end up with 2000/4000, still got 2000 shield hitpoints back, so just as effective. If anything, shunting a bigger shield is more effective because when you shunt 2000 to 1000/2000, you lose 1000 points. Shunt 2000 to 2000/4000, your shield is full again.

CtSS3 drops 75% of your current cap power in your shield. That's why you get different drains.
