Thread: DESPERATELY need help with Rebel Dantooine Tier 3 mission 2 (spynet) (fighting blacklight pirate

This morning, I took a squadron with me to Dantooine. I took 5 people (one guy sat in ywing turret) into my squadron (I was flying an X-wing with good level 5 parts). It turns out the escort/interception mission is just the FIRST part of the mission. Since I took so many people, we won victoriously.
Part 2 wasn't bad, either. Disable a ship, and put a new guy in, then we intercept Blacklight pirates. It got a little hairy, and Itte had left by then, but we held our own quite well.
By the time we were up to part 3, I only had 2 guys on my wing. Part 3 is an absolute NIGHTMARE.
You go to 3 patrol points. They're empty, but the fourth has a dozen tier 3 blacklight pirates with one tier 5 wing commander. In the other scenerio most are too busy attacking the transports you were sent to rescue, so it was quite doable. In this case, they all attack you. Me in specific, since I'm the mission holder.

Please tell me what I must do! It seems the pirates keep spawning, even when I killed the first wing commander. Can someone tell me what I have to do, and what happens after this? I want to prepare myself very nicely.

Has ANYONE won this mission yet? If anyone has, all I want to know is what to do with all those Blacklight ships and the wing commander. And I want to know exactly what happens next, so I can plan my squadron.

The text while flashes quickly and doesn't stay in spatial says something about inspecting the blacklight pirate ships. These things spawn endlessly! What must I do? Inspect them all, disable one, dock, and then the mission is over? I am really confused! Is this mission bugged? If not PLEASE tell me what to do!

If that's the mission where you are looking for the nav data yeah you have to inspect each one and then dock with the one that has it just kock out all the engines... I think that's all ya can do

This one was heck in beta.
Disable, disable, disable. Target engines or reactor using the [ and ] keys. Then inspect.
Or, as an option, get 6 or seven friends to go up with you, and have them blow up the bombers and other ships while you inspect everything you can. Eventually, you will be lucky and have a ship that's carrying the info you need.
Disable that ship, hit /iffscramble (so no one blows you into tiny pieces), and dock with it. Actually, the correct order is /dock then /iffscramble. The /dock sequence causes the npc ship to be indestructable while you're docking with it, and the /iff scramble... well, that's to keep you alive.

If I go witha squadron of my guildies, can they help by inspecting the ships?
And once I /dock and that's finished, is the whole mission accomplished?

You'll have to land for 100% success. I've had missions I've completed, but ended up dying on the way back, and had to do it all over again..

So after I /dock ... will those pirates still attack me? I just run to the station after finished docking, and land?

I tried this mission for the first time last night (solo, by the way). I ended up disabling and inspecting well over 30 pirate ships without finding the navigation data, finally got bored and went to bed. Can someone give me an idea on how many of those ships you have to inspect before you find the data, or is it completely random? Are we talking into the hundreds?

Guess that really depend on your luck, I got the data on my 3rd ships... 
but my bro got his only after a few nites try..

Since they fixed it, the one you want to disable/inspect/dock is either the Squadron Leader (something similar sounding maybe) or the Wing Commander. He should be easy to find, the hard part is surviving as there are quite a few pirates that keep spawning.

Unfortunately, he's not easy to find. I have spent hours on this mission now, disabling and inspecting literally hundreds of pirate ships, and I've yet to see a Squadron Commander. I have inspected many Wing Commanders, but that's the highest rank out there.
