I've tried like hell and i can't do it. Acutally i tried alot harder than i should have been, HEH.

Here's what ive figured out so far.

Theres two commands:
/target
/targetPilot

If you type in /tar and then hit CNTRL + tab ( i think shift + tab works too), it will list all possible varations of /tar. Hence the above two listed commands.

It wont however, give you the arguments for said commands. Now my theory is that every command in SWG has (or should have) a slash command associated with it. Looking in the space configuration files for my toon, and the nearest ive come up with is stuff like:

CMD_spaceTargetLastEnemyThatShotPlayer
CMD_untarget
CMD_spaceTargetClosestEnemy
CMD_spaceTargetNextEnemy

CMD_spaceTargetClosestEnemyPlayer
CMD_spaceTargetNextEnemyPlayer
CMD_spaceTargetClosestFriend
CMD_spaceTargetNextFriendly


No.. /CMD doesnt work on the command line ingame unfortunatly. Ive tried using variations of the above commands as arguments, such as " /targetPilot spaceTargetClosestEnemyPlayer " but it doesnt work. About the only thing i could get to work was:

/target self

So if anyone can figure it out, have at it, but whatever it is, it has to be a slash command to be able to macro it. Personnaly im getting REAL DAMN TIRED of hitthe the Z key all the time. Having failed to find a real commandline argument for it.. i think i might fall back on the oldest macro in gaming.....

I have not yet heard of it being successfully macro'd. Oddly enough, I'm thankful for this.

"/target" will work for more than just "/target self" though. If you are hunting for a specific ship (Corellian Corvette/Star Ravager in Kessel) or certain class of ship (TIE, 'Wing,' Black Sun, etc) then a macro might help you.

It's a bit more involved. Putting a command in a macro requires the 'slash' form of the command. The intention is to find a way to have the system run 'Target Nearsest Enemy Player' for you, which I believe reduces the need for a Pilot to be aware of their surroundings.

It's lazyiness in its purest form! Hey, im not full of myself, ill admit it, i want to be lazy!

Honestly though what im fnding is i make such a concious effort at spamming that key , that my flying performance suffers as a result - and its really startign to tick me off.

Frankly thoguh, i really do wish this macro existed for reasons other than my own desire to be lazy. Im sick and tired of finding unaware overt pilots. I shouldnt have to buzz them, shoot a fake missle, or send them a tell to get a fight out of them. Most of the time these days, i dont even bother to do that anymore. I just blow them out of the sky and keep going, without so much as slowing down one iota of throttle percentage. I just dont care anymore, its their own damn fault.

Yes, it is their fault - they knew the risks. That doesn't stop the flow of these, but it's a game with a system that could use a little bit of tweaking.
