Its kinda bothering me that I have trouble killing these things in a decent amount since I have no problem removing groups of awings or xwings of my tier (3) but its the slow moving y-wings (and b-wings actually) that take me the longest to disable/destroy. In my tie Intercepter I have alot of fun rolling up behind x-wings and the faster A-wings and trying on their rear while I disable them. But the slower moving ships (Y-wings/B-wings) I can't handle, i get behind them and before I can do any dmg i either get to close or I have to slow down to a point that I can't turn with them. How is such a slow ship able to turn on a dime like that?

Any advice on how to removing the mission throwers quickly from the field would be very helpful.

Same here....Y-Wings and B-Wings are so flat and so slow I have troubles hitting them head on. The only way I've been able to do it is to keep firing, right until they get near me, then turn and power down to about half power until I'm right behind them. Then I keep adjusting my speed and firing the whole time until their dead.

[ or ] to target the engine/reactor and then pound on them.

Use Mk2 Proton Missiles if you can. Once the shield is down thay are quite effective on components.

Don't fight them up close, try to keep them at range. Also, this is a situation where a good YPR on your engine helps a lot against NPCs. I know ho wyou feel though, these used to give me endless trouble too.

Ywings its about matching speed after getting behind and lowering 10% for the turns. Bwings get right up their ship and keep spamming macthspeed and you wont lose it.

dont get to close, stay around maximum range. I had this problem doing XP farming on some privateer ships that were slow.

I find y-wings and B-wings are the easiest things in the game to kill. I could take a nap and still out-fly those bricks...

Basicly, get behind them, slow down to mach speed, and blast away.

either really close or far away works i guess. but you cant really go after them as if htey were A-wings or TIEs

Tell me, how fast does sound travel in space?

Y-wings and B-wings are just different . I usually charge them while slowing down to get as many shots in as I can. If this doesntdestroy them, I whip around just before they reach me and hit "matchSpeed". This usually puts me right on their tail. They seldom last long after that.

I Have no trouble at all killing Y-Wings & B-Wings. I can take one down in a few seconds.

The trick is to Match speed, get on his tail then Lower your speed, just a little more to give him a few meters range & hammer him into Oblivion.

I Have the exact opposite problem acctually, I can't seem to kill A-Wings very Quickly. Ties are no problem, Opressors or Agressors are a little harder, but the rest are easy. But A-Wings, heh They're Slippery little buggers!!!
