Thread: ROTW ships ruining space

I hate the new ROTW ships. For so long we complained about the ground game, how it didn't look like it was Imperials vs. Rebels fighting because it was just everyone in composite, well now I can see space battles where it's just Jedi Starfighters vs. Belabubbs. I would literally vomit if I saw that when the space GCW finally takes off. It should be X-Wings, B-Wings, A-Wings, Y-Wings vs. TIE's, or Nova's vs. Deci's.

Solution: Simply make the Jedi Starfighter and Belabubb not as good. They should be options to use, but they shouldn't be the BEST option. Lowering their mass by a significant amount is a good start, but they should only have 1 weapon slot and no ordnance slots (maybe 1 on the belabubb).

Personally, I think this should be in the Pilot Top 5 list for problems. It needs to be fixed before we get too deep in.

Thank you for your suggestion to ruin the ships thatI and many othersprefer to fly.

Next you should suggest that all privateer ships be removed from the game because they don'tlook like the ships you see in your little fantasy world.

Maybe you could try looking beyond your own selfish wants before asking for someone else's game be ruined.

Maybe you should look beyond YOUR own selfish wants! In this case keeping an UNBALANCED few ships in game that totally break JTL. If you where a real pilot (regular pilot who enjoys the game) you would not want the game destroyed for your 2-4 weeks of fun in an unbalanced toy! I have a couple of the new ships and I for damn sure want them balanced!

the only thing "ruined" here is your credibility. people flock to new ships because they are new, not because they are unbalanced. the heavy tie and the heavy z are equally strong fighters and will get more use in time. old ships will become much more useful when the devs follow through with their commitment to revamp POB ships.

your argument is either about yourself and your inability to adapt, or it's about your piloting skills being exposed by appropriately massed light fighters.

if anything ruins the game it's uninformed trolls scaring away potential pilots with this drivel.

I can't say I think much of the whole business of "buy RotW if you want to compete in JtL" ... I'm not qualified to comment on the balance between the individual ships.

Why are people so of the opinion of making every thing black and white about these kinds of things? The rebellion did not just fly A, Y, X, B and Z-95 and they were not the only ones to fly them.

Look at the history. The Z-95 had been around for like 50 years before New hope. Kinda disapointed they did not sshow up in 'Sith'.

The Y is equally as common.

Why are they then associated with the rebellion? Easy, they are common. They are easy to get. That is why the Rebels, and so very many others, had them.

Same holds true for most of the common tie types. They are common. They are so common in this universe that they have crept into service with other groups. Not all with Imperial leanings. Heck, the Rebellion had whole ships of Imperial defectors that came over pilots, ships and all.

I think the piloting Certs should be as open as 'ROTW' has made them. Anyone can fly anytihing, as long as you do the work to get itand it makes sense.

I do think that some restrictions should apply, like the X, A, and B were specifically manufacured by the Alliance. I could see the same argumanet being made for the Special tie types at the top or even the Advanced.

Along the same lines, I am not sure what, if any of the Privater ships should be 'exclusive'. My impression of these is that they are very utility and common.

Why everyone is screaming for nerf, I think they should lok at a bigger picture. What is the point in it? Everyone has access to them, it just take the effort to achieve.

Why nerf them? Hell, I use a B-Wing to dogfight because pwning Tier 5s in my X-Wing was so easy it put me to sleep. If someone wants an easier time of things in space with one of the new ships, fine with me. If anything, it makes it more diverse up there rather than everyone in the same damned thing all the time.

You can only see so many X-Wings and B-Wings before you want to tear your hair out.

I actually like the look of the JSF, I was planing on flying it long before I even got into the Rage beta.

I've been involved in this exact same discussion about a dozen times in various threads... you know what, here's what I think.

Before these new ships it was extremely rare to see a Rebel overt in Deep Space, Kessel, or anywhere else. After ROTW it's still rare to see. For all the complaining and discussions and BS about these new ships... personally, I think it's bull. Why would you Rebels care either way? It's not like you actually participate in PvP except on maybe starsider. Otherwise Rebel pilots are totally unorganized and unwilling to fight anyway.

On my server the Rebel alliance is a joke when it comes to JTL. Ahazi, one of the more populated servers and I can sit in Deep Space overt for HOURS and never see a single Reb. How about this, when you finally get a squadron in the air, then you can complain. Till then just continue nerf-whoring on the BH/Jedi boards.

This whole balance, don't balance discussion is pointless. The Dev's have a hard enough time keeping servers up and you want them to meddle with things that aren't totally broken? Lets see... numerous professions completely borked, combat system borked, inventory borked, bugs with almost every new quest and item.... I hate to say it but JTL is the red-headed step child in SWG and you won't be seeing anything for quite sometime.

Though I support "balanced" gameplay in space, it's not a high priority issue when 90% of my flight time is spent killing the same NPC's over and over. Get some freakin pilots in the air then I'll take this seriously.

The only servers that I know of that can say they actually have real PvP in space are stardier and valcyn. If pilots from there wanna complain I'll listen. Otherwise, 2-6 Rebel pilots willing to PvP doesn't sound like a "majority of the population" to me.

Same here, first thing I did when RotW went live was start hunting for that ship. I've done none of the other ground quest, unless they lead to JtL ships or components...

...that said, they really need balancing, and even once they get balanced I will keep an outfitted Eta-2 and ARC-170 (once I get it) in my datapad at all times, as a stealth intercepter and small assault ship respectively (both combat and RP reasoning).

Umm...I just like to fly and shoot things. So I created 3 pilots for all 3 factions and just fly and do space combat PvE. Who cares who has what ship? Pilots in JTL play to fly and to dogfight and blow things up. Most JTL pilots could care less about the arguments in this whole thread.

Kazic Daane = Lowca (Smuggler)(Imperial Pilot)

Diad Itasko = Naritus (Bounty Hunter)
