Well I have 2 accounts and I spoke to a Freelancer before I started my Freelance training and was very happy to pick Corellia to start. It allows me to fight Imps or Rebels and Help anyone in space reguardless of faction, its a great in the middle choice.
Now for my 2nd toon I want to make him a Rebel Pilot. Could someone share the advantages of the 3 squadrons for me. I have been searching the forums and google now for 2 hours and can't seem to find any info pro and con for Naboo, Corellia, and Tatooine Squadrens. Corellia it says is neutral, does this mean you can fight Imps or Rebels as a Rebel Corellia pilot?
Also does chooing Tatooine allow you to get BlackSun Duty missions? Any help on the various squadrons and what its causes are would be super.
Thanks in advance

The planet you start on is pretty much meaningless. It's just a matter of flavor, really.
Crimson Phoenix is a fairly dull squadron. I did it, but it just didn't stick out as anything worth remembering in my mind. It's supposed to be the easiest of them, so if you're into a quick mastery that can work. I just picked it because I was starting a brand new character, and didn't really feel like shelling out for the trip off planet.
Haven't done the other two yet, so I can't comment on those. But Rebel squadrons aren't like Freelance. Who you fly for doesn't have any effect on who you can or can't shoot. If they're Rebel, you can't shoot them, period.

Vortex has the best storyline. Havok has the Black Sun duties but that doesn't really matter since you can take the duties from any trainer within your faction. E.g. your CorSec pilot can take the duties from smugglers alliance and RSF.
No major differences in difficulty.
Oh, Havok does have the most excentric trainers of the threethus the more funnier conversations.

I also did Pheonix for my very first Pilot Tree. Though, I picked it because Tat is my home planet. I also did Smuggler's alliance for the very same reason, and am now sitting in space waiting for my Vette to pop in order to complete my Corsec Tree. The next Rebel Tree I take won't be Pheonix, as Treena says, nothing really stands out much one way or the other. It's called the easiest of the three Rebel Trees, and, this may be simply for the fact that it's average. No Super Long Escorts, No GB's that pop out at you in the last second, when you are least expecting it, nothing really remarkable one way or the other.

Im doing Vortex now it was my first choice. (at the time I dident know there was a difference between the 3) Its a challenge but if it wasent it wouldent be all that fun. Some of the missions are long an just when you think your done, bam more Ties!! They say its the hardest Reb tree, but I havent tried any of the others yet.
Hope this helps

If i were to pick a rebel squadron .. one that i was going to be in for a long long time and not drop, i would pick Crimson phoneix.
- Teir4 trainer is the only one that has a factional destroy mission for FP farming. (being in crimson phonix you avoid the BS intro speech, minor astheitic i know)
- Its based out of the only Rebel Outpost with a starport. You have bank, bazar terminal, and mission terminals all RIGHT THERE (along with your teir 4 trainer). Very convienant
- Depending on server congestion, you can put your houses down anywhere from 133 meters to whatever distance to the starship terminal. (i was like one of the first to realize this logistical advantage and had my house 133 meters from the starship terminal, it was NICE. Go back there now, and a whole town as grown up around the rebel outpost there, its halrious. I wish i never uprooted those houses i had down, i could have sold that lot space off for a pretty penny ill wager hehehe)

When I talk to the pilot trainer she doesnt offer me phonix, or vortex just Naboo, Corellia, and Tatooine, which squadron ties to which planet?

Off the top of my head.
I think Crimson Phoniex starts on tatoonie.
Vortex and Havok start in the other two, i forget which is which, i want to say vortex starts in naboo, monia. Check the FAQ sticky, the correct answers are in there.

if you call flying hour long escort missions with occasional waves of increadably easy ties interesting, then vortex is the one for you. i call it mind-numbingly boring myself.
havok, while easy, has alot less escort missions.

I did crimson phoenix first. It took me the longest only because i was a new pilto at the time, i lacked skills and droid programs and good ship parts, i have also done havoc and vortex. havoc had funny trainers. I think they were all crazy. Vortex had a good storyline, but the missions were LONG!

Havok was my first squadron (starts in tyrenna), even with crap gear (un-RE'd loot droped while playing) it was easy to finish. Sounds like crimson is enough to put you to sleep
