I bought one of these for my advanced x-wing but I can't figure out how to attach them. Does it take a shipwright?

why did you buy them for an advanced x wing, the advanced x wing has them already, thats the point, the side strakes themselves are to increase the mass of a regular x wing i think, but theyre not as good as a real advanced x wing

Oops, didn't know that. I thought that strakes were like extra wings or something. I didn't know that the advanced had them already.

The side strakes do not add mass. They add a modest amount of armor to the chassis (50 points I think) and also add some hit points (100?).

There are winglets for the advanced.

I was looking for some strakes for my x-wing since my shipwright was on vacation, and some psycho's on bloodfin were actually selling them for millions.

Hmm, as far as i know, those things are purely decorational... and yes, i think it's the tie advanced which can have some, the freelancers can get some for the rihkxyrk.

Actually i think they are a great idea, it would be wonderful to have two or three different possible modifications for each ship in game so you can further customize your ship.

4 different styles with 3 different customisations leaves you with 12 different ways your frame actually looks like. Add the fact that engines and boosters sometimes make the ship look quite different and then still being able to put on textures and colors allow you to make your ship truely be "yours", no carbon copy around each corner. [Of course, this should not be true for tie-fighters. Those are standardised ships of a huge military force, they are supposed to look all alike, unlike the "ragtag" rebel forces who press each ship into service where they can get their hands upon... ]

Zeee strakes.... zee winglets.....zey do NOTHING!

Think of strakes and winglets as somebody ricing up their economy car by putting a spoiler or a big muffler in it. Its just for show, doesnt do anything, and people get to laugh

Ikind of like them.

Same here, i wish there'd be some cool enhancements to strap on my Krayt and Vaksai. (And also on the YT-1300, despite i rarely have the crew to fly it...)

Duci, they do add something... they take dmg before other parts, and after Armor.

Honeslty i like them too, but i gotta admit i did feel a bit..... strange putting them in a T/A.
I did use them in a standard Xwing to throw peoples assesment off when they saw my ship.

A whole 50 armor? Or was that 50 hitpoints?
