ok people argue that space pvp is better than ground pvp because it requires skill.......yeh right.
Everything is a 1 shot kill its completly pointless tbh. Im not saying ships should be able to absorb large amounts of dmg, but atleast make it so u can have actuall dogfights atm its first hit = wins.
Honestly how much skill does it take to pull a trigger once and win....none.
Id like other peoples opinions on this perhaps tis just me that thinks this tho i seriously doubt it.

two pointer that will make it last longer
1) good equipment... just because it works fine in PvE doesn't make it good. most kills take 2 and sometimes 3 hits. with CTSS4 that can be a bit tricky
2)evade... between 2 skilled pilots who know how and do evade properly a fight can last 30+ mins
If you always win these too fast PvP matches then you need to find better pilots... there is no shortage of them on starsider and the fights can take forever.

And just because I'm feeling like a b*tch today...
Translation: I took my JSF out to try some PvP and got my @$$ handed to me in less than a second. This is totally unfair! I am teh ub3r! I should pwnz0r everything in my path. How dare they make space battles act like the Star Wars movies actually do?

In my most humble of opinions, I think PvP here is boring as hell in comparison to the maelstrom of combat of the XvT games and beyond. The real kick in the ass is that it takes 5 minutes to go BACK into PvP, and you have an almost zero chance of evading a missle.
I'd rather just fire up X-Wing Alliance with people Iactually like than go through the drama-soaked PvP of SWG.

If this is who i think it is, the guy in question was in DS about a hour ago. He got me a missle (one shot too, so i assume it was a proton mk3), fair dues, he caught me off guard, i went to get my img rec and chaff launchers, while i was a friend of mine was also in DS. Apparently the person who killed me had been killed pretty much instantly by 1 person 3 times. I think this is the resulting post.

Sensor Decoy Launcher FTW!
And get a faster DI if you want back into PvP quicker.

Yeh it is higgs im just saying it doesnt seem exactly fun 1 shot killing. Nope wasnt me who got killed instantly 3 times after u. After i killed u me an tekiko flew at each other and ended up both dieing.
Then my ship was bugged and shields and cap werent regening so had to enter deepspace and leave to fix but someopne decided to kill me.
I made this post because everything is a 1 shot kill and its hardly fun.
And for the noob who came out with bullsh*t post off i took my jsf out and got pwned go away and learn how to be civil. FYI i was in an opressor for a laugh
I was asking for people opinions on wether they think ti should be 1 shot kills.. as i dont exactly find it fun even when im doing the killing.

This happens to me all the time. But I come back 2 or 3 times, to see if the pilot that killed me was just lucky, or if he really is better. Once that is determined, I decide weather to take a few hard learned lessons, or just go do something else.
Anyways... against an equal pilot, in an equal ship, PvP fights in space can take up to 30 minutes. 30 minutes of pumbing blood and sweaty hands. 30 minutes of ripping your joystick to pieces. 30 minutes of dodging, turning, running, braking, accelerating and then taking the occasional pod-shot. 30 minutes of pure and raw exitement, until you finally get that final shot homed on your opponent, and scream "BOOM HEADSHOT!!!" and then wake up as another imp has sneaked up on you and hands you your ass on a plate...
