Subject says it all - where can I go as a Rebel Pilot to grind starship XP as well as faction points?
Thanks in advance

Well I'm not a reb, but you really need to say what tier you are. As for FP just go overt and you get fp for any opposing faction kill. But remeber the price of the reward, there is the chance that you will run into another overt player who will kill you. As for the grind I still think duty missions give the best xp/hour. You might get more xp of higher tier ships, but looking for random spawns can waist a lot of time. The duty missions just throw wave after wave at you, never ending.

Well for a 3-3-3-3 Reb Pilot, I've been thinking that there must be certain areas or specific Imp mobs/spawns which are more lucritive, and relatively safe (not frequented by Overt Imps) than just doing duty missions.
You may be right about the steady Starship XP/Faction Points rolling in during a duty mission, but I do wonder if there are higher level Imp targets out there which, although slower to spawn, give off more XP/FP and are overall - more effective/productive to grind with.
Personally, I find duty missions a little monotonous and would look forward to the periodic break, and hopefully an increase in the amount of XP/FP I'm getting - but I might be looking for a silver bullet here where none exists.
Thanks

At your level I'd try Kessel, I went there starting at Imp 4333, we have to train ships first at this level due to our super low masses. I did fine out there, and fewnpcs there agro you so it is almost always a one on one fight. Great FP too, 45-50 per kill, for A-wings to B-wings
Enjoy the hunt!

Hyperspace to Dantooine, Isryn's Veil. Target Dantooine station and head toward it. Force assassins will appear on radar. They are tier 3 & 4 with appox. 1200 and 2900 xp. Also a force tyrant will appear typically once for every 5 or 6 force assassins, andgives about 4300xp. The ships spawn about 2-3 at a time and consistantly. You can fight all day if so inclined.

Thanks for the info guys I'll give 'em both a whirl.
I'm a little leery about grinding faction in Kessel, as my impression is that this is almost an Imp stronghold -but I'll give it a shot.

the best place for xp if you can handle large groups of tier4 ships yourself is at the forth hyper point in endor, fly to the linear masma POI and blast the scientist bodyguards. they show up yellow so you agro one, kill it, and then goto another.
for fp once you are master and have a decent awing equiped, you can head to deep space and kill the isd continuously for about 550 fp each.
once you are capapble of handling large groups of tier4 ties, then take a destroy duty mission from the trainer in the reb outpost on rori and if you declare you will make alot of faction, xp, and loot.
ive been getting so much faction and dont know what to do with it, so i just cap it out and convert to combat xp or something else, blowing up ties beats killing quenkers anyday, and you get alot of loot too. most of the loot will be junk but can be sold to the chassis dealer for cash. every once in a while though you will get something good. just yesterday while i was doing one of the destroy missions, i looted a lvl8 reactor with 36000 output off one of those ties.

Hi,
after reading this thread i went to Kessel to grind some Imp FP, but i didn't get any...
I'm a Privateer, is it only the Faction pilots who get the FP when declared? Or do i have to declare in the usual space sectors?

As a neutral/smuggler alliancethe easiest faction point area is Lok. Go to the Lok station and take the destroy mission for storm squardon. Mostly tier 2 and 3 ties; no Agressors with those annoying tail guns. You get faction, xp and are paid for the mission. Of course remember to go to a rebel space station first and go overt.

Thanks again guys. So far Kessel seems by far the best spot to go for lots of XP and faction points, but I noticed that I seem to be the only Overt Reb there......which makes mewonder where the rest of my comerades are grinding starship xp and faction points jointly.
Perhaps I'm the only one with that specific agenda - i.e. - BOTH starship XP and faction points concurrently.
Asoa; my alt is a Freelance Pilot and I have found that in order to grind any faction points with him, I simply need to go to the Reb Faction Stations- and once you have declared in space, simply go to known areas that have concentrations of your "sworn" enemy - ideally higher Tiers.
When you kill them, in addition to getting the starship XP you should then be getting your respective faction points.
Hard part for me, has been to track down the most lucritive spots to do this (as a Rebel Pilot) - hence this thread.
In any event, I've seen other threads which indicate that in order for Freelancers to declare in space, that you need to be Overt on the ground first - and then jump into space and travel to your respective faction's space stations to declare Overt status to that faction.
I find this to be false myself.
My alt, while a freelancer is a covert Reb on the ground. In order to declare in space - I simply need to visit the Reb space station and declare.
With that done (and I've never had any problems declaring) - I simply have to hunt down good spots to effectively farm faction and XP at the same time.
You will not get any faction points unless you declare first though - and when you successfully declare, you should get a system message about 30 seconds afterwards specifically stating that your "PvP status has changed to Overt".
Hope that helped.

Go to the system that spawns the level of IMP NPC you want and find a Imp space station. Tap it a couple of times and fighters will appear. Kill all in area and repeat.
Faction, Loot and $.

Lok has good clusters of Imperials, as does Endor. Endor is the tougher of the two. In Lok, activate the POI markers for the Imp Station and Mid Point. fly between the two. Target rich area of tier2-3, that is essentially nonstop action. Kessel's main downside is the quirky nature of the spawning. There can be long gaps where its hard to find foes, and this can cut down your fp/xp rate. However the Upside of Kessel is satisfaction. I have become a proficient Agressor killer, and the 64fp 10k xp per ship is some of the most satisfying I have ever earned.

Been cruising Kessel the last few nights overt, and I gotta say I'm not too pleased with the results. FP in the 50s is actually a bit low as it turns out.
Flying for2.5 hours, I managed constant combat and made just under 5k fp. That includes stumbling upon 10 gunships tightly circiling a single point in space, oblivious to my incessent disruptor fire into their midst, netting me1600 fp for my efforts. On land, I can pull down over 7k fp out of any Imp treminal on Dantooinein the same timeframe, without going Overt and risking far less valuable equipment to a possible decayless PvP death. The payout is much higher on land: In Kessel, I mearly got less than a dozen lootparts -only 4 of any real value - and 42k in cred chips. While I do have the expense of buffs and armor decay to worry about, those expencespale in comparison to a fully loaded Tier 4 ship.
All in all, it seems better to split one's time between land GCW and space duty missions v Black Sun.
If you are going to try and hunt, watch yourself in Endor space: It's a favorite haunt for both opposing faction players to hunt and to overt before heading up to Kessel. With space PvP the way it stands now (remnicent of the early ground PvP pre dmg reduction), he who shoots first, wins.
