Thread: Couple questions about the Jedi Starfighter...
1) Is this ship better than the Kimogila?
2) Can it be equipped decently enough to remain a ship to continuously fly in?
3) Can you lock the foils in the attack position?
4) If you can do 3, how do you do it?
I think that's all I have for right now.
Thank you in advance!

matter of opinion my friend. JSF is light and very hard to hit. Different ships have different styles.
2) Can it be equipped decently enough to remain a ship to continuously fly in?
I would have to concur. Its smalla nd u can load it up with pretty good stuff. Its about equal to the grevious ship, and i've solod many vetts/SD in it. small, fast, 2 weapons..not too shabby
3) Can you lock the foils in the attack position?
yep. press O to toggle S-foils

I just did the quest up to the part where you get the deed from Vader for the JSF. I sort of did the quest without looking over the specs and stuff for the ship. So I just have a couple questions.

1.) You could argue its the best all around use ship ever. Let alone better then the kimogila. Popular concensus is the ship is acutally overpowered. Personnaly, i consider it the composite armor of space. From a practical standpont, there really isnt much point in using any other ship.
2.) yeah.
3.) yeah
4.) You hit the button that toggles S foils.

I can't totally agree there. I know it's your "Space Composite," but it's still not the perfect ship for all occassions.
Ignoring specialty chassis' like 2-seaters and the POB ships, I think the heavy bombers still have a role - their enormous Mass capabilties make them better for dishing out sheer DPS. JSFs/B-22s (don't forget that they are skins of the same ship) can certainly handle an aggressive AI Gunboat or POB ship, but a Krayt, Opp, or B-Wing would likely be able to bring down the heavier shields and armor faster than the weapons people fit into the lighter ships.
For example, if I am taking a few people out to do a Kash Tier 5 Duty, I might like some of my wingmates in heavy fighter-bombers to get the Gunboats off my tail as quickly as possible (without them having to dance around in a less durable fighter).
As far as PvP goes, the JSF is almost it, period. We pretty well showed that in DS Sunday night, Rapax. Eight people showed up and three people switched ships at some point. All together, I saw 1 Dunelizard, 1 Royal Guard TIE, 2 Heavy X-Wings, and 7 JSFs or B-22s. All three people who switched ships came back in JSFs.

You do have a point about DPS. I suppose its why i do have a krayt outfitted. But i was thinking from an adaptablity standpoint. Simply put, there is nothing i can't do in a ship like the JSF, and do it passibly well.
As pvp goes, im pretty sure my statement is justifed. I call my JSF "space composite" because i simply put, i dont think that ship deserves the respect of a "real" name. But, yah that dunelizard was me. I gave it a go. I found out quickly i was nothing but a big target. Vaped twice and no kills, although i got close to winning that 2nd fight in it, i fumbled the controls and screwed the pooch. Yanked the parts out of the dunelizard, tossed them into the JSF, and i think i had like a 6 to 1 kill/death ratio. im not sure, i was just enjoying myself. Not sure how many ppl had targeted me, id just latch on to whom i thought was the best pilot, and stuck to them like glue. I figure they're manuvering around enough while on their tail would keep me alive.
Let us see....
1) The ship is an IMP ship. Think manuvable/ fast/ hard to hit. also think light weight. If you are an IMP, this ship is like a battleship. Its 90k max weight and 2 guns (we are use to 1 gun) make it the all that in fighter technology ( kind of sad actully).
The Kimogila is 110k max mass with 3 guns. and of course not as manuvalble.
2) If you skimp on a few things ( armor , hvy guns ) and get good light weight ( it is all about the weight) componets you shouild do great. Learn to fly and dodge well first. This ship takes damage when it blows up , as do all ships but you can not easly replace this ship. You have to find someone that will sell you theirs when the ship finally decays ( e.g. do not die is the JSF, LOL).
3 and 4) You can actuate the winglets with the "0" key , I guess O for Open. then O for Open ( not ) to close the winglets.
The Grivous fighter is the same ship but with I slightly larger hit box then the JSF.

Or because you're good enough to still do well in an A-wing or TIE Advanced for example. Scariest pilot I know on Starsider flies a T/A. Yup the JSF is obvoiusly better, but piloting skill has a lot to do with it too and the A-wing and T/A are not obsolete yet. In fact, from what I've seen, neither is the x-wing or in Adonis' case, the KSE o.o
I'm still getting over that. KSE? PvP?bleh?!

you know, im not exactly the worst pilot in the galaxy, nor am i the greatest. But i was just thinking earlier. Last night we had a fairly fun impromptu furball. I started in a DUNELIZARD. From the onset i just got owned. One guy nailed me with a shot to the engine on the first pass, despite my corkscrewing efforts to prevent it, and Shona simply put a cap in my arse not five seconds into a turning fight.
Two deaths 0 wins.
Looking around, i saw nothing but ROTW ships. RGI, JSF,s B22's, and one heavy X. At this point i decided that losing wasnt very much fun. I then quickly outfitted a JSF using just the parts i had in my dunelizard. Suddenly i was doing a whole lot of killing, and hardly any dying.
Good piloting is a factor yes. Even the most overpowered ship is a newbie ship if its in the hands of a rookie. However i think ship choice is a critical factor that can't be ignored.

Double posted me.
