Rebels on our server are camping the heck out of the ISD, seems about 10-11 of them go there and blow the ISDnetting them750 FP each, then the ISD respawns instantly and they blow it again. Average time of death for the ISD is about 3 minutes, that's 15k FP apiece an hour, or 150k total. Imps desiring to do something similar will find the rebel base blows, and stays gone until server reset or somebody blows the ISD. This is pretty much the same thing as the old rebel base "exploit" where you could kill it over and over again for cash. They need to fix the ISD the way they did the rebel station. If you blow the ISD, it's gone until the rebel station is blown, if you blow the rebel station, it's gone until the ISD is blown.

I don't know about this solution, but it definitly sounds like they need to do something about it, if it is the way you say it is....
I'd definitly support a longer timer on respawning it, let's say 20 minutes between spawns or something.

It just gets messed up sometimes. I was in Deep Space a couple days ago and destroyed the Freedom Station. The station respawned before I had made it all the way back to the ISD.

Doesn't matter for Imperials... the Rebel Station gives 0 FP.
That's right... none whatsoever.

An 'exploit' is typically defined, in this conxtext, as abusing a system in a manner the system was not designed for the premeditated purpose of gaining an advantage the system was not meant to allow... or something like that.
What you describe is players using a system exactly as it is designed. The ISD is designed to give FP and is designed to respawn quickly. To call it an exploit and thereby calling the Rebel Pilots exploiters sounds.... like a whine.
I believe there was a right way to bring a game imbalance to the attention of a Corro or a Dev and that this thread is not it.
just my opinion

Argue semantics if you want, but it's obviously an oversight/poor design that is being taken advantage of by a number of players. The title has the word exploit in quotation marks, clearly implying exactly that--it may not be an exploit in the exact definition of the word, but it's an obvious case of unintended consequences being used by players to benefit in a way that was not intended.
In fact, this sounds like the definition of an exploit to me. Sure, the ISD was designed to give FP, and it was also designed to respawn quickly. However, I'm confident it was not the designed intention for it to be the ultimate faction farm. This is one of those cases where it's all a judgment call, and there's probably no way or need to blame those who take advantage of it, but that doesn't change the fact it's an exploit that needs to be fixed.

oooooor...now this is going to sound crazy....but you could defend the ISD. I know there are several people on my server who fly in deep spacefor the sole purpose of defending the ISD. Seems to me like it would be a good RPing situation and time for some excellent combat. It is my understanding that was the intended purpose of both space stations being in deepspace. Having said that, I don't think its right for the rebel space station to give 0 fp. That should be fixed.

I wouldn't call this an exploit either, but is is an unbalanced system that does need to be corrected.
It seems like the developers have created a variant of capture the flag....rebels defend the base, and imperials the star destroyer. In order to steal the flag (a.k.a. the kill) one must stop defending the base (or Star Destroyer).
Any prize given to one side upon victory must be given to the other side upon defeat, anything else would be considered unfair, or 'imbalanced' if your a game developer.
If the star destroyer has an irregular spawn rate, so must the rebel base. If the star destroyer gives off 750 fp, then so must the base.
I think this sums up what the original author of this thread was meaning to say (not that I'm intending to put words in anyones mouth)

I don't fight them any more. The uneeded tells, cheap tactics, and exploited gear (at least 3 have shields in the 3800 range) make PvP against them a whole lot of not fun.
Also the only time I bothered blowing the reb station (didn't notice the FP, may have not been overt at the time, was a while ago) it took 2 days and a server reset to respawn. Meaning I can't sit there and camp it earning 750 FP every 3 minutes, even if it did give 750 FP. Seems only the ISD being destroyed does a system reset. So that's at least 2 things that need to be fixed.

Ok, first of all, I think I came off a little rude on my last post. That was not my intention. I was just merely trying to imply that it would possibly be fun to PvP with them. But, from your the sounds of it, I was incorrect in my implications

Do you fly solo?

Well, it would definitely be cool if there were more defense of the ISD and Rebel station in Deep Space by players looking for a good fight, but it's not really our job to do so, and it kind of blows to feel compelled to defend it just because the system's not balanced or working properly.
I guess it's not really our job to stick our noses in other peoples' business, either, but when it comes to something that sounds fishy like this, it's probably in the best interests of the game to present the facts and, if it's warranted, push for change. Given the discrepancies between the two sides here, it seems pretty clear something needs to be done.

I've been known to "camp" the Star Destroyer. It's not that I'm grinding faction points; I'm just bored. When you destroy the Station or ISD, the spawns in Deep Space are reset. What I'm trying to do by that is to get the attention of any other players. Usually, most people tend to be in Deep Space for the PvE portion of the game. They're faction farming or they're looting. I figure if the spawns keep resetting, they'll have to come looking for me. It sometimes works.

I PMed you Eaca with my suggestion on how to deal with this.
Although i really wish you hadn't have posted this on the board openly. It's only going to make things worse for the imperial players on other servers if rebel players take note of it. This has far reaching consquences in the ground war merry go round the bases metagame. Every hardcore pilot knew about deepspace's strategic value before, i even posted as much, but i seriously hope you just didn't ring the dinner bell. But to that end, ive taken your orginal post and will be distributing that information to my guild, and our guild alliance, and every other guild alliance i can get ahold of ingame so we're all aware of it.
