Cute idea, but if you follow those lines then you'll have to take the shields and hyperdrives off most TIE fighters.

My TIE Fighter gets picked up by a Star Destroyer whenever I need to get to a different system. Doesn't everyone's?

And you will have to take shields off the actis as well. If you read the star wars.com databank, I believe it says the actis was unshielded.
i wonder at all of the people who want to nerf the jsf, i have an alternate solution. bring the rest of the ships up to its level. instead of decreasing the performance of a fighter that is out of balance we should make the rest of the fighters perform better, give some ships like the awing an actual bonus to speed and manuverability instead of just giving them what is listed on the engine. give xwing's and other ships like them a bonus to their sheilds. do things like this and youll quickly find the jsf will become just another fighter.
also on the note of removeing sheilds and hyperdrives from tie's. noone in galaxies is a regular fighter pilot, we are mercinaries, and have modified ships. In the eu books their are modified tie's with hyperdrives and sheilds.
That said, I need a bit of a rant now... Apologies up front
What is it with all these "Nerf the jedi fighter" posts anyway?!!!
That thing has a mear 90k mass. Most people won't be able to get an anywhere near decent set up for that. (Exclude me from that statement... MAAAANNNN I love being my own Shipwright!)
Before the A-Wing and Interceptor low mass argument, forget it, I've used all ships at one point or another and have had the A-Wing performing pretty similar to my Jedi Fighter, as the interceptor. The JSF is from a time where the technology was available and not nerfed by the Empire as I understand it. It should be a superior ship. End of.
Not a personal stab at you, but I wouldn't mind betting that a fair few of the people requesting it to be nerfed are either someone who got taken out by one after several attempts to hit one, or are ground rebels that have been hit several times by one and want one themselves but do not want to loose their faction ranks, which is understandable. (Hint to those people: Space is the easiest way to get faction points. Period!)
I'm considering dropping my colonel Imperial and getting some rebel faction so I can get me the ARC actually. I know I can get back to colonel in a couple fo evenings, easy.
things dont need extreme performance. If anyone tries nerfing my JSF ill gladly kill them with my X-wing. Bring other ships up to level, not neccisarily in performance but maybe giving them bonuses to shields, engines, weapons or other components even if u can get overloads for them already.
I'm more concerned about hte red tie. it is nearly impossible to hit because of hte bugged hit box.

A B22 is not balanced with the JSF nor does it fit into the timeline any better than the JSF, worse in fact. That's a horrible idea.
