The guns in the front are missile launchers, so those guns don't actually exist. Your YT-1300 has these missile launchers.
Smugglers can slice ships, its called reverse engineering and Shipwrights get better at it as they climb the trees.
I want my A-Wing to turn better then a heavy outdated ship.

With game interpretations of film content, one must always be prepared to not expect miracles. Especially with, Starwars games. In fact, many if not the majority of Starwars games, if you discounted the fact that they're Starwars, they'd actually be really terrible games. The only real reason why soem Starwars games outlive their best before end date, is the fact that they're starwars and the fans relate to them a lot. They tend to use their imaginations a lot more than hey would in a different game.
A fine example of this would be Jedi Knight Academy in my oppinion. I know it isn't SWG but the rule can be applied. Apart from the fact that in this game, we have twich based space combat and the ground game, if you removed space and I were a hardcore MMORPG'er, I know I wouldn't be playing SWG because there are way better MMOs out there. Its just that space factor, the starwars factor and my imagination and love for Starwars keeps me playing this even if some of the issues with it and the way thy are('nt?) addressed is appalling.
I *am* a hardcore MMORPG'er, and I'm playing SWG because it's the best *science fiction* MMORPG available. There are better MMOPRG but they are fantasy-based.

I fly a Nova. I've heard plenty about how POB's are lousey but you know what? I love my Nova. I prefer flying something that requires a co-operative crew effort. Its a heck of a lot more fun. Of the POB's I agree the YT-1300 is the least attactive from the interior. Only the cockpit and the guners get to see anything but hey, its a YT-1300! Its cool. Get some good RE parts in that puppy and have fun.
And yes, the "guns" in ROTJ are concussion missiles and not lasers. Durring the dogfight around the second Death Star you will notice the Falcon has a crew running around behind Lando and Nien Numb. If you search enough on line you will find deleted sceenes of one of the falcons gunners from that battle. Lando didnot fire the quads.

With the YT-1300 all you need is someone in #1 cannon and you can rock and roll...
As to the OP stating that they cannot manuever, try compairing a Rihxyrk with a "normal" engine and the YT-1300 with a good engine and at about 50% thrust. You can move quite well, especially if you have gunners as you don't have to get completely lined up with your target, just keep the enemy within their firing arc.
