Been messing with dogfighting in a B-Wing, I must say the stick is very sensitive, put too much momentum into it and ....oops u overcompensated. But I have noticed that, this is in PvE now, haven't tried PvP yet, that when u just feather the stick slightly, u can cut down on the overcompensation. I believe that for a B-Wing to dogfight well, (no particular order here) 1) Have manueverabilty in the 70's, top speed in the 80's at least. 2) Have at least 2000+ on your shields so can offset your turning advantage and take more punishment than usual. 3) Have 3 of the 4 weapons stations have cannon that fire 3000+ max damage4) Use Weapon Overload, Reactor OL, Weapon Cap OL, and Engine OL Droid Chips. 5) Lastly, a little trick....the B is notorious for having slow acceleration.....beat this by pushing the throttle all the way down then IMMEDIATELY hitting your booster ( the higher the acceleration the better). That's my thoughts.....discussion? Please no flaming.

nice to see someone trying to figure out how to do it. sadly, my little rebel pilot is in holding pattern waiting for my RSF pilot to finish. Or i would have tested out your theories.

I found I really liked the B-Wing in PvE dogfight, she can take a pounding and if they try to go head on, forget about it they are vape bait and she is wicked against the larger ships. Turning can be tricky but for a big girl, she handles pretty well just gotta plan your maneuvers little ahead and use small input. Kinda like driving a boat on water. With the current PvP damage model, I would think the B-Wing is a big fat target.

This is great...but it's slowing down to manouver which becomes difficult now. It'd be great if you could stick boosters on the front to slow ya down lol

A buddy on Shadowfire has been flying one in Vette missions for quite some time. If he picks a target, it's dead and he gets the loot. Simple as that. That being said, his engine PYR has to be up in the high 70's or in the 80's because he moves that thing like a sportcar.

I've been refusing to unpack my Bwing until the wing bug is fixed.

Eventually it became painfully obvious that it's extremely difficult to fly the B-wing without the overcharge chips... unless you plan on flying a straight line 89% of the time
In a dogfight, it rewards pilots who put up withits tendency to overcompensate by being able to throwtons of firepower at a single target. I've never PVPed in one, but in PVE if you're patient with it you'll wipe the floor with most things out there.
It's also easier to change your heading by rolling left or right, and then pulling up or pushing down on the stick; at least, it appears to be much faster than simply pushing the stick left or right, to me at least
I find using booster to quickly accelerate has only limited uses, but again, great for flying straight and level away from a furball you can't fight.

While I wouldn't say the Bwing is my favorite ship in PvE or PvP. I have PvPed in her several times and not been sent to Dantooine once. High YPR is SUPER, ULTRA, UBER, RIDICULOUSLY important, my Bwing engine has YPR all around 79, top speed is 82, add in engine overload 3 and she can really turn. That said, feather adjustments on the stick and maneuver planning are your friend. With the right shields/armor the B can still take 3-4 hits to kill in PvP, and with the fire output she is capable of she can kill damn near anything in one salvo. I love the weapons spread and lack of convergence, same as the Xwing. I dont want all my lasers converging, it removes the whole point of having the weapons displaced from the center of the ship. With the lack of convergence you get a little more leeway in targeting, ie you dont have to be right on the money. Her inertia is horrible due to her size, but as has been said good stick control is the key here. The only weakness I think the Bwing has in PvP or PvE is her big fat ass. Although she is notas huge as the Krayt or Rhykzerk, she is still an easy target to hit.
There are many many people calling for her to have her chassis mods for YPR udgraded so she is at least on par with the Ywing. I could see bringing her to the YPR of the Nova or Decimator maybe, but the fact is, the Bwing can bring more firepower to bear on any target than any other ship in the game. granted the Krayt has the same number of harpoints for guns, but one is a turret and the krayt only gets 1? missile slot. The Bwing is really a higher class of ship the MP ships in this game. She was built to kill capital ships, but in capable hands she can dogfight with all but the fastest ships (Awings, interceptors) Read anything in StarWars canon about the Bwing, and you will find that everything tells you she is notoriously hard to pilot unless in the hands of someone who is very good. She is a great ship as she is

I've used the b-wing in PVP a lot (only lost once out of 6 fights) its slow moving but the second i can get my guns on a target it doesn't last very long (imo its better in PVP then PVE).

So the S-Foils are sticking?.......nothing that a prybar and duct tape can't handle
Anyhow yes I noticed as well that turning is much easier when u roll the ship first...a "rolling turn" if you will.....kinda like a Immelmann manuever. Glad to see I'm not alone in my love for the B-Wing
Nice thing about RPing a B-Wing pilot is that you get to wear the B-Wing flightsuit from the Rebel theme park. I wear it with pride....so should all of you, my friends
P.S. If you discover anything new about the "B" post it on this thread if you can...after all we gotta stick together

its workable, but a properly equiped x-wing will apply more damage to a moving target despite having lesser firepower. in the time it takes for a bwing to bring its guns to bear of a TIE, my x-wing would have blown it away and already be firing on a second target.

I used to be a pretty good pilot in my B-Wing. I could take on quite a bit of PvE enemies and blow them away. That is, until the damn S-Foils bug came about and now the B-Wing is extremly hard to pilot in a fight. It's way too hard to aim the weapons now.
So I haven't been piloting it much... not until S-Foils are fixed...

i have to agree.
I seriously tried out the b-wing and i was using a lvl 10, 83 ypr, 94 speed engine and i hated it.
true, once you DO get your guns on something - its dead, but in my x-wing i can kill way faster..
Maybe once they fix the s-foil bug, ill give it another try...
