Just open your s-foils right after the hyperspace countdown closed them. That way your s-foils will be open in the system where you need them.

I'm sure it is like this on all of the servers, but as a consistant B-wing pilot anytime I join a group to help someone do a mission or the vett, etc I end up getting bombarded with "Your flying that thing". My responce is generally the same every time. Yes the X-Wing is a good fighter, it is supposed to be! If it wasn't the number of people crying foul in this game would be amazing and the Dev's would be hiding in a hardend bunker. Now PLEASE don't flame me and go on a 1 star spree for this but....

The B-Wing is a solidly built craft if you take the time to do a good layout for it AND your willing to take the time to learn how to fly it effectively. I compare the X & B's to learning to play and win at checkers and chess respectively. "Winning" in a X-wing is not a difficult task to grasp. "Winning" in a B-Wing takes alot more thought and *gasp* strategic planning. I feel it is a viable penalty for me to have a ship that can dish out high damage yet if I make a wrong move it can be a critical error on my part.

For PvP in the B-Wing I'm 2-0 (spend most my time on helping others get their ace or getting their 4444). I can honestly say I don't think either time they were really expecting me. Maybe their line of thought was "He's in a B-wing he MUST be going to the ISD and not comming after me." Both times were against intercepters and both times I just lined him up from a distance, took a decent speed and knocked them down with a salovo of beam & missle fire.

Now I would actually RP with a B-wing if I were in a massive PVP battle. X & A wings would have to protect the B wings to better insure the target (more then likely the ISD) had a chance to be taken down. Agaisnt hords of Imperial fighters.... that's the relm of the X & A wings.

Reguarding PvE I find the B-wing to be perfect for what I want to do. I can easily grind faction points against tier 4's in Dath space and not suffer from being declared. I tried that with my A-wing a couple times and found I had to land ALOT more shots to register a kill. Amusingly I even fly declared 80% of the time when I'm helping people do their missions as; A I'm disableing most ships in a few shots anyway. B I might as well get faction points for helping them out, it's almost like a payment.

For me the B-wing is planning where you want to go and knowing what your going to do when you get there. X & A's are for yanking and banking. Am I a better pilot because I can fly the B-wing? No not at all. But when I do fly my A, I find it's easier to think ahead because of my experences with the B. It IS something that most players will either like alot or hate. The performance and layout differences between the A, B & X wings are there so different types of pilots can find "their" ship of choice.

Last but not least..... I want more ship slots for my pad. Three just is not enough. I'd love to keep my Nova, A-wing, B-wing, X-wing, Firespray, and the upcomming Jedi starfighter and a mineing ship. Maybe 7 seems like alot but keep in mind reguardless of how many I have in my pad I can only fly ONE at a time. Sometimes I'm just in the mood to fly something different.

If I ever make my flight academy happen, I will force every rebel pilot to exclusively fly the Bwing for at least a few days. The amount of anticipation and quickness of reflexes, let alone the appreciation of maneuverability, that Bwing pilots must have to surviveis definitely worth it. Every time I come back from a long vacation (ie more than 4 days away from JTL), I always use the Bwing after I come back before I graduate back to the Awing so that I don't go soft.

Doc,

I couldn't agree more with you, each ship is it's totally different animal. People also forget that the B-Wing is classified as a fighter/bomber, it can do both. I will be bold and say that all B-Wing pilots (skill trees aside)can fly a X-Wing , but not all X-Wing pilots can fly a B-Wing. IMO, an X-Wing is a "instant gratification" ship, but the "B" makes you work for it's love. But once you got it, you don't wanna go back, nothing else will do

I've switched over to the B-Wing. The X-Wing got boring, it's an "Iwin button" in 2-3 seconds vs. most PvE enemies.

For elder pilots out there who are tired of the status quo, you may enjoy the challenge of the B-Wing. I reccommend it.

It's like beginning all over. You have to relearn how to fly.

You feel like you're flying a drunk walrus for the first day or two, but for those that can master The Zen Art of The B, the rewards are great.

It does 1093 with foils extended, 1155 with foils in, 1435 boosterized thanks to my lvl 10 RE engine 82/82/83 YPR, 104 speed.

Tonight I soloed the ISD in it. I was awestruck.

I rock duty missions after I learned slowing to around 200 often forces TIEAIto dive atyou as if you were a capital ship, which is, of course, suicide. You joust a B-Wing, you're space litter; period.

An imperial in a JSF caught me and tried to toast me in Kessel. "You like THAT ship?" he said. He tried to get behind me but couldn't land a blow, I put him on the defensive and once two of my 4 cannons got a lucky graze, he was "only of interest to historians!"

I love my B-Wing.

Rock on B-Pilots! Keep singing the B-Wing's praises; may heralding the B never fall off these forums.

Firespray only has two cannons, B-Wing has 4 and costs way less. B-Wing > Firespray

I've been exclusively using my B-Wing since I hit Master. I use it for everything, and I can't think of anything I haven't done in the B-Wing. I've taken on 10 Tier 5 TIE's in DS at once, and they were space dust in very little time, and I believe I only shunted once. This is with a pretty dern crappy engine too, some crafted thing with low 60's in YPR (working on REing a lot of parts as I speak, I've got a house with backpacks organized all along the walls with my to-be-RE'd parts, I'm just waiting till I can get the best).

Like someone else said, it's fun because you have to relearn how to fly. I wasn't able to log in for2 weeks, came back, hopped in my B-Wing and once again I had to try and learn how to fly the behemoth again, but was able to pick it up quickly since I had been doing it for months before. It's different from any other ship I've flown.

I load it up with a light booster (don't get about how good it is, I just use it, like the original poster, to accelerate quickly), three weapons (3000, 3600, 4000), a very nice capacitor, the 2400/2400 reward shields, and mostly misc stuff in the other slots. And like I said, I've done everything in it, and can't remember the last time I died.

I've never gone to PvP with it on purpose, but have run in to a few JSF and Vaksai's in Deep Space while grinding for loot. Lost once, won three times. Not bad for crappy parts.

I spend basically all of my online time doing Tier 4 duty missions (mmmm faction) for loot that I can RE though, so hopefully I'll start being able to use some real top-quality parts. I've got some top-quality parts already, but, obviously, compared to RE they're not the best.

Depends on your flying style. That said, my opinion is that it is insane, but not as insane as flying a Y-wing.

I fly my B-Wing exclusively. Everyone in my guild flies advanced x-wings, so I wanted to go against the grain. Mastering the B-Wing has probably been the most rewarding thing I've ever done in Galaxies

Actually, I think the B-Wing is a great training ship. If you're into the light fast stuff, putyourself in a B-Wing and teach yourself to handle it well with fine control, then fly your high maneuverability ship, if you learned well in the B-Wing, you'll feel the difference.
