before someone says "dude get a belbulba" i dont want a belbulba i like my awing.
had my trusted shipwright use her best stuff and got a
66.202 k chassis, which is about 600 higher mass (it does make a difference at times)
anyone seen any higher chasis for a-wing?|
OKAY LOOK THIS ISNT A "WE NEED HIGH MASS A -WINGS this is asking if the current a-wing deed is considered "higher mass" than the normal a-wing

If you don't want a JSF/Bel-22, get a 96k+ mass Heavy Z95. At least then the exterior can be changed.

Don't underestimate the Heavy Fighters, they are awesome!
Second day into RoTW, I popped a vette solo in Kessel in it.
No one knew what I was really flying

Heck yeah! High mass A-wing, give it the hit box of the RGI! I'm all for that!

The A-Wing is just fine the way it is.
The ship is very well balanced.
The only ships that needed a High Mass variant was the Z-95 and other starter craft (Although, I don't quite know why the Empire needed a High Mass Starter TIE, since the next TIE up the line was sort of that to begin with...)
Anyway, I love my High Mass Z-95. It looks like tank, flies like a dream and smacks the opposition quite nicely.

Initially yes, I have to agree with you, 95k mass is over kill. However, later on, you can fill that little guy up with some nice stuff, and you have a very nice ship, handling as good as an A-wing, and 95k, not to shabby. The same cannot be said of the Z-95. Its guns are spread out so far, that most people will miss most of the time. I hated the heavy Z, and deeded it as soon as I could get an X-wing. If you like the gun spacing on the Z, then, yeah, its a great ship, but I think most (espically ones coming from imperial path) will have a big problem hitting any thing.

I have no trouble with the Heavy Z, it's manuerverable enough to make compensating for the width of its weapon mounts a fairly easy task. The rub is the fact that it has so few weapons that can be mounted on it. One Gun, One Missile Tube.
It works well, nonetheless, but I find myself flying my Advanced X-Wing a bit more, since I can pack on all the more equipment.

Using great resources on chassis is just not worth it. The difference between a 10 point shipwright with crappy resources and a 12 point shipwright with perfect resources is so small that it just is not worth doing, unless the customer is paying you very handsomely (How much did you pay?).

190 k, which was around 2.5 cpu. Which was totatly under what it was worth, but she miend it herself and im on her "perfered customer card" list. Ive bought alot of my stuff (well over 3 mil worth) from her and were good friends.
But it bumped my a-wing chasis that i had before from 64.7 to 66.2
