For the last 4 days I have been looking for Master pilots to help me out on taking out the vette.

I've done the following

1). Posted on my boards (wanderhome)

No one even replied or sent me a tell ingame

2). Spammed it up at cnet

I just think I annoyed more people than did any good

Now I'm sorry but there is no way I can solo the thing I'm not some Uber l33t pilot. I can usually handle whats thrown at me and only needed help like twice on my missions to get here.

Now I'm totally stuck I can't do the master mission and seriously wanna get my YT in the air.

Find the common points of contact for pilots and take advantage of them. Maybe float near the Entrance station for Rebels (Dantooine) and chat with guys as they go through. Hang out in the hotel at Doaba Guerful and talk to people who come there for the mission. Maybe they are 1 step behind you and wouldn't mind a hand on the 30 ships mission. I always work under the "to get help, be a helper" mentality. If people above you aren't willing to help because you're essentially begging, then do what they didn't and turn around and bring people up to your level. You may not know many Aces personally, but you might meet a guy in a guild who would bring 2-3 Aces to the party, and someone else may have a friend near mastery... etc etc.

Another option is to hang in Kessel, and lock on the vette whenever it appears, follow it and if a group shows to take it, join. Unintentionally this is what happened to me last night. I was in Kessel hoping to find an Overt, but I caught this group and got in just as they finished. I've done the 'vette, helped people with my other Ace, and more, otherwise I'd feel a bit guilty about this.

I've helped people too.....

Thing is my friends list doesn't seem to be as active anymore.

And this response " Nah I don't pilot anymore.", came from a few people

I just hung out in Kessel a lot. Thought about how to take on the vette solo as well as chat with any pilots on the /who list seeing if they needed to do the vette. After a while I got enough connections together to do a vette run. I suggest actually asking 14-20 people, because half usually never show up.

Psikobunny has some good advice. There is a Pilots helper list at the top of this forum, it's a sticky. I haven't gone through it but have you added your name and searched it for others on your server?

I'm not being critcal of Wanderhome but I find it hard to believe that you can't getoneperson to help. You'll always run into people that can't help everytime but can help once in a while. You have either been in the wrong place at the wrong time on Wanderhome everyone has that "I need help but" when it's your turn for help, I'll always be busy. Which seems to be the case, but again, I can't believe it.

I think you'll find a group eventually and you'll get Master.

Good Luck

It sucks when you've helped people that don't return the favor. We have a few leeches like that on our server. The only thing I can say is make new friends. Our Pilots' chat is usually occupied with other people that are moving up. If your server doesn't have one, start one and advertise it in your server's forums.

I had a guildee last night with the same problem. We started out with just him and me, and he needed his Exit, 30 TIEs and Vette to Master.

We started out with us 2 and our guild leader and took on the exit mission with relative ease, then a few others jumped in when we started the 30 TIEs due to guild chat convos. We had 5 for the vette mission at that point and proceeded to wait for the spawn. Just waiting there several other pilots wandered by and asked to join and soon the group was up to 9 people, far more than needed.

Our main problem was we waited close to 3 hours, the Rebel vette spawned, but no Star Ravager to be seen anywhere - we eventually bugged the broken spawn and went to bed..

My advice - hang out at the Vette spawn spot - people are sure to come by needing the same mission and you can join up or invite them to your group.

Be patient - they will come. ( hopefully the vette will too )

If you want more immediate results a Pilot Chat channel isn't going to work. To work people have to be on it and if it's new no one is going to be there for awhile. Most people have Guild, Group or the regular chat channels up anyway. We have a Pilots chat channel on Ahazi and people use it once they've sent /tells and answered emails. Once you've made your contacts you switch to the chat channel and it'sinstant group chat. I think the advice that's been given so far is going to be your best bet. I know it's frustrating but I still think it's a wrong place/wrong time situation.

When I needed help, I just did a search for "Alliance Pilots" and asked them through tells if they'd be willing to help (then I offered payment). Probably about 95% out of 100 where "too busy", "logging soon" or "maybe later". The other five percent were nice enough to help me.

Now that I'm ace... again... I try to help other pilots with their missions when needed.

This is a time when belonging to a good PA is a very good thing. I would suggest like others that you hang out near the entrance to the Deep space missions, and see if there are people willing to join your group. I mean there have to be others in your situation.

That was you? Right on. I did make 4/4/3/4 last night. Hopefully I'll be able to take on the vette in another week or so. I don't have much time to play with work and school right now, so it may take me that long. Yeah definetely, lets try to get a group together to go after the vette.

P.S. How would I go about finding out if there is a pilot chat on Bloodfin, and if there is, how would I add it to my chat list?
