OK, I am at work, so can't test this out, but just had a thought....
Is it possible to RE crafted components?
Example, if we made booster, using factory created Booster Overchages, and factory created boosters themselves, they shoudl be identical with the same serial number.
Could 2 or 3 etc (depending on the level) then be put into a component analysis tool to give you one Booster, with the extra RE bonus on top?
Any ideas, has anyone tried this yet?

Yes, ben tried. No it doesn't work. In order to RE a component, it must have a listed RE level. RE levels are not always the same as the cert level.

Can you use a part that has 0 hitpoints (thats like normal item "condition") in reverse engineering?

I just got a 46 regen capacitator lvl 4
If I add this, one with 1k plus energy, one with low mass and one with low drain,
will it take all the good stats? (not into it yet)

You will need 4 RE lvl 4 caps and it will take the best stats of all 4.

Sorry if this as been asked tons of times, i just picked up novice shipwright, i know i can only RE level 1 disks but will my lack of skills effect my chances of getting firespray discs??

Not as far as anyone has noticed.
Unfortantly it seems the frequency of the disks has decreased (assumed, from what people have said)

hi all
quick question regarding RE the ship loot. I understand that i can only do RE Lev1 atm as i'm only 3000 but my question is regarding XP on RE'ing. I've not been getting any XP when doing RE'ing is this normal or lev1 RE loot (or all loot)? or do i have to wait till i do highter level RE loot?

It is normal to receive no XP for RE'ing items. If you notice, there is also no chance of failure when RE'ing items. It is a carefully stricken balance that the Devs may change at sometime in the future.

Actually at 3-0-0-0 you can RE lvl 3 armor, and lvl 1 everything else.
And there is no xp for reverse engineering, this is not a bug.
You can RE 2 levels per box in any tree, of component types you can produce in that tree.
So "Systems" for example allows you to RE Reactors, capacitors, and Droid Interfaces.
