Update 4/28, 10:15 AM PST: My test ship converted fine. Right now, I would say this issue was resolved and we shouldn't have anything more to worry about on the matter, though we don't yet have enough information to be certain.
Update 4/28, 8 AM PST: Looks like the bug may have been fixed. Please let us know the results on your own ship or any other anomalies in the conversion process.
URGENT UPDATE: It looks like we're going to see either the CU itself or various CU-related material added to live over the next couple days. I don't know whether this will include material that will bug your ships or even whether the bug still exists; I'm trying to get that info now, but as it can result in lost gear and bugged ships, I strongly recommend you pull all your components from your ships before the extended downtimes for your server. (Server schedules can be found here.)
I'll post any new information here the moment I've got it.
Original post:
Hey everybody. Currently, there's a bug in the ship conversion process on TC stemming from the addition of the cargo bay that's causing weapons, ordnance, and countermeasures to show up loaded in parts of the ship they shouldn't be, and in the case of some weapons, to disappear entirely.
I've already submitted an initial report on this, but if any of you log on to a conversion server over the next few days (TC-Ep3 should be unaffected; if you see it crop up over there, be sure to report it), please check your ships and see if anything strange has happened to your weapons, ordnance, and countermeasures. If it has, please post the specifics of where your gear ended up along with what kind of ship it happened in.
I wouldn't expect this to make it to live, but if for some reason it does or if the status of the issue is still unclear, I'd recommend pulling these components out of your ship before RotW is enabled. That should leave your ship unaffected by the conversion process.
I'll be updating this as we get more info, so check back now and then. Thanks guys.
Update: TC-Ep3 appears to have the same bug. Don't quite understand how it's working over there yet, so anyone who's experienced this problem, please post any information you've got, even if it seems redundant.

Thanks Tomo,
Yup, looks like the addition of the Cargo Bay slot addition to the tree has thrown the conversion out of step. Mine as follows:
TC-Ahazi Conversion. Character Iena
YT-1300
Reactor: OK
Engine: OK
Shield: OK
Front Armor: OK
Rear Armor: OK
Capacitor: OK
Booster: OK
Droid Interface: OK
Cargo Hold (Large): Has become weapon 1
Weapon: Has become a Proton II Launcher??
Weapon: Is now empty!
Ordinance: Is now empty! (Was a Proton II Launcher)
Ordinance: Is now empty! (Was a Proton II Launcher)
Countermeasure: Blank (This is correct though for me)
Droid/Flight Comp: Had de-selected, but otherwise fine.
Outcome of conversion:
Turret 1 has moved into the cargo hold slot. Turret 2 has vanished along with one of my launchers (the other launcher now occupying the second turret hard point.
"Krayt" Gunship
Reactor: OK
Engine: OK
Shield: OK
Front armor: OK
Rear Armor: OK
Capacitor: OK
Booster: OK
Droid Interface: OK
Cargo Hold (Fighter): Weapon 1
Weapon: Is holding weapon 4
Weapon: Is now empty!
Weapon: Is now empty!
Weapon: Is now empty
Ordinance: MKII Proton Launcher (I need to check, but 99% sure I never had any launchers fitted to this ship!!)
Countermeasure: Blank (OK)
Droid/Flight Comp: De-selected but OK
Outcome of conversion:
weapons mixed up and two missing alltogether. Another thing I noticed with both ships was within the 'Maintain' window under each component in the tree, certain slots, such as shield and capacitor for example were displaying 'alternative' parts, i.e. ones in my inventory that could be loaded. The thing is I had NO PARTS in my inventory at all!! So no idea where the ship maintenance window was recognising these parts from.
The other thing I noticed was strange was the Krayts total energy output was 16635/15095 putting it well into the red on consumption. 1. In live this ship is below reactor output (not in red), 2. If parts are missing, where is it getting this energy drain from? Just food for thought. Until the conversion tree slots are fixed I cant really see what else is broken. What also makes me think this is a display issue is the ships Mass was unchanged, i.e. 202778/209901. Again, if two Cert 8 guns had gone missing, ships mass should be a LOT lighter. I think the parts are there, they are just not registering properly in their respective slots.
Cheers
Iena - MCH / Master Ranger

TC-EP3 to some extent is affected. If you pick up pilot, yourprototype weapon will be loaded into the cargo hold of your starter ship when you first access it. Has been bugged in-game, but good to tie this info to your report.

Actually unless they changed something the newbie ships the game gives you on TC were doing this also... very annoying..

I'd heard that and was trying to test newbie ships out on TC-Ep3 the other day, but everything looked normal to me. I'll mess around with it some more today.

When was this happening with the starter ships? I just tried a couple more factions and couldn't reproduce any bugs. If someone could give it a try again and get us your results, it'd be most appreciated.

I believe the way it affected me on TCEP3 was this:
Got Prototype Ship (Scyk, CorSec) and flew it through some missions, collecting low level loot
Loaded some loot parts onto it, including a cert 3 weapon, and logged for the evening.
Came on, hoping to put the ship through it's paces to find the cert 3 weapon gone, but the mass still used. Other components could be unloaded, but unloading everything visable left the ship with mass used - mass approximate to what I remembered the cert 3 weapon requiring.

Thanks. Sounding like it resets your weapons every time you log, which makes this a little nastier than I thought.

oh no its not a reset everytime you log. I was just saying that the newbie ships is still coming messed up. Also a newbie ship that i had for a while now on a new toon checked it out and it was fine before cu and messed up after like my x-wing which by the way i can still see my weapons in the managment window but not in invetory. If there was a way to get a cargo hold to see if they went into the naexistent cargo would be cool. Do you know if sw can create them or are the quest only from miniers for the wookie planet.

So guess this is not fixed
Well I removed all equipment from my ships and probably won't put it back till i know for sure it will not ruin my stuff.
Perhaps the Cargohold comes only with RotW then tomorrow is safe, and they have a week to fix it, but they might patch it in tomorrow already.
