As a shipwright, I've noticed this. LEVEL 2 Capacitors are wicked. I re'd a few today....Came out with one at a 39.5 recharge rate and 1000 capacitor energy.....SO....If you're looking to decrease your mass, and keep your capacitor bang. This is the way to go.

Modify that to Even Leveled capacitors.

Even a really good L2 wont power a fully armed Krayt and provide enough juice for CtSS, overcharged or not. Still plenty of place for good 2,4,6,8 caps.

I picked up a sweet L2 cap several days ago. It went straight in. I love em.

My original capacitor was an L2. I used it in every TIE that I owned, up until I built my Oppressor. That thing has about 52 HP these days.

yeah....caps, engines. reactors.....Whats the gig with the whole even numbered thing. I have a 71 speed level 2 engine. You can't even touch that with a level 5. Is this something wierd the devs wrote into the program....?

Hmmmmm.....

In general, I love lower cert'ed RE'ed components. I was running a sweet setup in a TIE intercepter (50k mass) and if it wasn't for well re'ed comps it wouldn't have been possible. For those of us collecting to RE heres a good way to make your shipwright happy.

In my large house (400 item storage) I have 20 backpacks. the first ten are labelled cert1, cert2, etc.... I land and drop the components in the proper backpacks. Then above those I have 10 more backpacks labelled Cert1 RE'ed, cert2 RE'ed.. etc..

Then I give my guilds Shipwright admin on the house and whenever he has the chance he goes in and gets to work. Currently I'm sitting on about 350 components and about 1/3 of those are RE'ed. I'm working on my third ace currently and having these re'ed components in storage makes regrinding pilot so much easier (in addition to the Master Exp bonus). Also, I have one additional backpack for reward gear only, this way when I finally get to my final Ace profession (in my case it will be Storm Squadron) I'll have some of the best components possible and my shipwright is almost guarenteed to have all 8 FireSpray disks.

I have known this since shortly after JTL release. I just looted a lvl 2 cap that has over 900 energy and about 38.5 recharge. I intend to beat the h3ll out of it on CO4. RE it, then beat the h3ll out of it again.

I've had a great deal of success with lev 6 capacitors. I just RE'd three new ones.

Each one has 500+ armor which allows for much longer use over the lev 2 caps. I loot a massive number of lev 6 caps when performing one of the Rori Station duty missions.

My best level 6 has...

518 armor
810 reactor drain
8300 mass
1206 cap energy
44.6 recharge

My other ones have a bit better recharge and cap energy, but higher mass and drain. The benefit by using lev 4 or 6 capacitors comes from the multi stat adjustment. I can get one cap with the best armor, one with the best drain, etc. I may have to pick and choose on lev 2.

I do the almost the same thing, just a couple of differances:

-I use a small house (200 items)and a storage vendor.

-I only RE parts from levels 1,2,3,4,6,8 and 10.

-Unless it's a blaster, or armor with oddball stats, I dont RE level 5,7 and 9. The part will still be crap post RE, and the chances of getting a disk are lower (a bag full of level 1's is 50 chances, a bag full of level 10's is only 5 chances). IMO it's better to sell those levels pre-RE. Think about it. If you have 70 mixed items in your inventory from levels 5,7 and 9, that's almost 500k at the starship chassis dealer. 500k versus about 10 chances at a FS disk. I'll take the money

I'm a shipwright near master, and it appears to me that looted components are all best as even number levels. This would make sense, as all shipwright components are odd number levels. Just how I interpret the odd/even level system, anyways...

Gosh, isn't that posted somewhere else on the forums. I remember you saying that before.

Yah, even number capacitors are the best and you can get a really good RE with them. I've got one in my tie on test center right now. Ohhhh man, it's wicked.

Note, I specifically mentioned capacitors as following the even/odd rule. Other items, like Reactors and Armor and some levels of shield, don't.
