Thread: Dedicated pilots: how do you manage & store all your parts?
What's the preferred strategy here?
- Get more lots via static lot trades?
- Pick up some merchant skills and store the stuff on vendors?
1 is the specilised stuff like all my L8 guns, L8 shields, L6 and L7 weapons, L6 engines etc.
2 is my Armor/Booster/Capacitor/DI stuff. I also keep all my REed and crafted Armor, Boosters, caps and DI in here also.
3 is the same as 2, but ites Engines/Reactors/Shields/Weapons.
I also have a SW with whom i RE my stuff with.
If you're in a guild, I'm sure they can help you out (If you don't want to use vendors that is).
I myself only keep the best parts I loot, and enough extras to help a guild mate every now and then. The rest I usually sell or use up when someone brings me something to RE (usually I can beat the junk they bring in with my 'average' loot).
But then again I'man exclusiveshipwright, I don't usually do work for the public. Mostly just friends, guild mates, or people that really really impress me and deserve my hard earned virtual loot.
Looks like I'll have to pick up some merchant for a high-volume vendor. Too bad. I wonder how much of merchant I can get and still be lvl 80.

That depends on your professions. CL 80 is two elite profession masteries, right? I used TKA and Fencer as my "test classes", as their prerequisites are close. With that being the case, you can manage two branches of the Merchant tree. Which is, realisticly, well more than you need if you're not planning to actually sell anything. This will grant you 9 vendors and an item limit of 2750, which should keep you busy for a little while.
engines
shields/armor
reactors
weapons/capacitors

I thought about this, but never tried it. I figured they would have seen that exploit. I am sure gonna use it now though.
I keep my stuff divided up in back packs (for ease of finding a certian type of component) in a small house. I am able to fit everything because I only keep good parts, high level parts, or parts I know I need to RE.
So things that are known to suck (like level 7 and 9 engines or level 6 blasters or any armor) I just sell to the chassis dealer. I sell all my non-exceptional low level (like below 5 or 6) loot to the chassis dealer because if I ever find an exceptional component to RE,it won't take that long to find the components, as they are common and you don't need many.
Of course if you are a SW REing for disks and you want to keep EVERYTHING this solution won't work.
