The Advanced is probably the best, but me and a number of other pilots fly Interceptors into PVP, and it'd be possible to even use a TIE/In. I'd go with a level 6 or 8 RE'd reward engine, a level 7 crafted shield (though you could maybe squeeze the RE'd reward shield into an Advanced), crafted or RE'd guns (level 6 is fine, 7 can be great, may even use a level 4 or 5 alongside the 7 in an Advanced to free up mass), chaff, then fill out the rest with whatever you can fit. I do use everything I can in my Interceptor, though, including armor on both sides, a booster, and a missile launcher. My role in our space battles is a scout and A-Wing hunter/killer, so I need pretty much everything I can fit in the ship to meet those demands, but you could probably leave out certain things depending on what you're going to be doing up there.

I use a *heavily* modified TIE-Adv with a pre-nerf reward engine with an REed 72.6 yaw rating in addition to an L8 heavy-hitter and crafted L7 reward shield specialized for low-mass.

When I need extra shielding, I swap out the L8 for an REed reward L7 and a *somewhat* light L8 REed reward shield. Oh yeah, I also have the space for twin REed L4 armor plates in addition to a pre-nerf Mk2 spacebomb launcher on *either* configuration.

Finding a 1254.x mass L1 looted reactor with a 14k post-RE regen rate helped a lot when it came to shoehorning everything in. I haven't had a reason to switch over to it yet (since my chassis hasn't dropped below 1000.0/1000.0), but I've got a 66,025 mass Advanced waiting for me, which boosts my mass by about 400 over my current chassis limit.

PvP wise, Imperials acutally have the best ships. Revisting Rebel pilot has left me that impression at any rate.

T/I, T/A, and with the right application... a T/O are some of the best PvP ships in the game.

If I were factioned purely by what I'd most like to fly, I'd be in an A-Wing, personally. Those things are miniscule.

I really want to see some Rebs put the B-Wing to effective use, I think there's a role for it if you can pull it off.

I'd have to say the TIE Advanced if you load it well with good re'ed looted components or top of the line shipwright built components with low mass. The TIE Oppressor does well, but it can't turn as fast to meet up against the A-Wing.

Well, once you get into group battles, a few Oppressors loaded up with missiles makes it much easier for the Advanced/Interceptor fighter screen to deal with those A-Wings. The Rebels don't exactly have anything similar, though the use of Firesprays/B-Wings/Longprobes could even things up a bit.

Am I the only one who uses a Tie Aggressor for PVP?
Instead of a pair of guns, I have a single T10 gun, 4550 max damage, .76/.78
I can hold my own against most enemies, and do quite well in PVE. I also like to take guildies with me to get them xp and FP, without having to switch ships.

TIE Interceptor has three advantages compared to the TIE Advanced when it comes to pvp. It is cheaper to replace, its blaster has a better spread, and it is smaller and harder to hit. Everyone has to decide if those - rather small advantages - are enough to offset the TIE Adavnced's better firepower and better mass.

I fly a squint though, and like it.

Personally... for PvP as an Imperial it's all about a fully decked out TIE Intercepter. I'd take my Oppressor second.

I've spent considerable time gathering the right components to be able to load out an Intercepter very well. (I posted those stats in another thread called "Screaming Vengeance: The Deep Space Intercepter Project"

That little fighter just rules! With a lvl 6 Re'ed reward engine you can litterally fly backwards around AWings. True, take the same components and drop em in an advanced, grab an extra gun... very nice. Likewise you can use the sameload out, grab a better reactor and you have an absolutely evil Oppressor.

Honestly, for PvP I preferred my Firespray or Intercepter when I was an Imp pilot, as a Nuetral pilot I like my Krayt (damage output like nothing else!). But I am looking forward to the release of ROTW for the new ships. Soon as we find out who gets cert'ed for what is when I'll decide on if I stay Nuetral or go for my third Imperial Ace.

I have to 100% Agree on the Advanced. The Interceptor is just as good, but bear in mind it holds 1 gun and considerably less mass.

I love my Oppressor, I loaded it down with 2 4.2k's and am tweeking it right now with better componenets. Although I could use a lighter and more maneuvarable fighter, I loving the payload on this baby. I guess it's a matter of playing style.

I've been doing heavy patrols in deep space and taking out reb farmers when I can find them. My record is decent and I've been taking some screenshots lately.

You guys have hints on chips, right now I use EO3, WO3, and Capacitor to Shield Shunt 3 (4 I'm playing with now). I try to use EO4 and it cuts out, and WO4 shuts me down completely. Any links or clues you can give me would be appreciated.

Before entering Combat (in order) I will run these generally....

Reactor Overload3

Engine Overload 3

Weapon Overload 3

Capacitor Overload 3

Strengthen Shields Forward 3

Strengthen Shields Rear 3

And I keep Capacitor to shield Shunt 3 as well for in-combat.
