Thread: One of my biggest pet peeves.
Yeah, I saw someone left them on Radiant too when I went to make Ace for my 3rd time.
I was plenty annoyed, but that was offset in how proud of myself I was after I destroyed one.
If my FPS didn't lag so much in Kessel space I'd be going after those ghrag gunboats too, but so far killing those spinning gunboats in kessel was the hardest thing I've accomplished in JtL.
Kind of Ironic its a workaround for a bug.

I think the gunboats should hyper out after the vette is destroyed. They have failed their mission and it is time for them to return to base.

That happened this weekend on Starsider. I was in Kessel just cruising around killing the NPC and saw the vette under attack. So I got to 2km and stopped to watched them blow it up, the thing makes a very nice explosion that almost fills the screen even at 2km. Next thing I see is they hyperedout leaving not only the 2 gunboats but also about 4 or 5 of the fighter escorts. I ended up cleaning up the mess that theyleft hoping to get some parts, but I only got credits and prestige points.
Oops. That might have been me. I have done a couple of hundred vettes at least now and I always kill the escort. This time however, I was sleepy so forgot. On returning from DS after fixing my overloads though it hit me and I went back to finish the job though
I did the Rebel vette last night, and am proud to announce that my group destroyed the gunships before finishing off the vette. One of my group members was a neutral flying a Rhikzyrk (or however it's spelled), and he tore those things up. When I first entered Kessel, though, I found a single gunship at the exit point.
