Thread: JSF mass capacity
Message Edited by MadMox on 09-29-2005 04:24 AM
The JSF is a bit high on mass, given its size, weapon loadout, and handling, as far as most are concerned. But, what the heck... Let's see if I can come up with a setup that will work out nicely for you.

Maybe it's just me and the components I have, but I can't find an effective equipment combo for the JSF. I keep overloading the mass. What components are you all using for this ship? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Considering my main ship is about 25k less mass than the JSF, I probably wouldn't complain. And yes I am a master pilot, and yes I do PvP.

The mass on the JSF is fine. You just need to educate yourself more about components. List your loadout and let people tear it apart. In doing so they will tell you what works for them.
Find someone who flies a JSF or similar chassis. Ask them what they are using. Compare it with what you have now.
Basic guildline.
Best Engine you can find. Preferably a RE lvl 8. If you aren't going to PVP right now drop down to a good lvl 6 RE. This might be easier to find
Shield protecto-net REed shield Lvl 7. Even a good crafted lvl 7 will do. Some will say lvl 8 but given the lack of low level mass shields I have seen this may not be feasible.
Weapons: Best you can fit. REs lvl 7 or maybe even a 8 and 7 if you can get them really low mass. But like the shield, Lvl 7 crafted guns will do. Best imho are speed crafted
Capacitor No higher than lvl 4. With Droid commands the way they are you will never run out of juice.
Reactor: I run LVL 1 crafted unless I really need more power to run EO4
DI: Pre-nerf if you can find it but even a current looted and crafted will do.
Missles: your option. Fit if you have room
Chaff: PVE maybe not but PVP you should at least load a basic chaff dispenser
Armor. As much as you can with the remaining mass. If you load out your ship correctly you will have room for armor. Good lvl 4 REs will be less than 2k in wait and give more than 600 points of protection. Even Mark II crafted is better than none. Don't go without just because it is macho or your guildie says he never loads it. You will be surprised the number of times even 600 points of armor will save your butt.

i tend to load mine out with a LvL 8 RE gun and a LvL 7 RE gun, as well as the lvl 8 reward shield RE'd *only got it down to 27k, best i could do lol* so i use a lvl 6 RE engine (73 ypr, 86 top speed, 9k mass)

i use a mark 1 crafted reactor... 12.4k energy, 1k mass. and i run EO4.
now... when/if WO3 is ever fixed, it'll make that impossible. it does help that i use one RE'd LvL 7, and one RE'd LvL 8, which are much less drain than a player-made.
in fact, the only player-made component i run in my JSF, is the reactor, the booster, and the DI.

no, but i definately need to read more
Acctually its a damn good ship.. almost as good as the bullba ... althought they are basically the same ship. The JSF and the bullba have the same mass... but to be honest if you want the best you gotta get yourself a Vak!!!
It may only have one gun slot but you can place a damn big gun in it and, a big engine in it to outfly every JSF and Bullba in the game.

It's just you. Go outfit a T/A, THEN complain about mass - think JSFless25k.
