Thread: JSF mass capacity
Isn't this like the fourth post on the Actis being low mass in one week? What rock are ya'll crawlin' out from under?
People above noted some important aspects of which componets you can skimp on - like lower level reactors, boosters, and capacitors.
The other thing to realize is you can't throw all of your best equipment onto a chassis most of the time, and if you think the Actis is bad I'm guessing you didn't fly pre-RotW. You have to find a balance. Want bigger guns? Sacrifice for a smaller engine. Want speed and manuevering? You might need a lighter shield. Need armor and defenses? Cut back on weapons and engine. See the pattern?
I've run with two versions of the Actis. The first I use for PvE in DS when I'm farming (good solid pick for an Imp when I want to farm quickly). Level 6 engine, 7 crafted shield, and a pair of level 8 guns for faster kills. On the other hand when I rig it for PvP (RARE occasions) I throw in a level 8 engine and a pair of level 7 guns, and toss around a few other parts.
Reactor - Level 5 / Mass 8106 / RGR 14637 (13100 used)
Engine - Level 7 / Mass 11530 / PYR 57.8 (all 3) / Speed 102.6
Shield - Level 7 / Mass 16896 / SRR 13.7
Armour - Level 5 / Mass 6201 (both)
Capacitor - Level 3 / Mass 2427 / CE 660.2 / RR 41.2
Booster - Level 5 / Mass 6350 / BE 1028 / TBS 39.1
DI - Level 5 / Mass 2607 / Speed 18.7
Weapons - Level 7 / Mass 14570 / Damage 1536 - 2556 / vs shields & armour 0.48 / ES 27 / RR 0.26 (both weapons)
I havent't done any PvP yet so I've no idea if this setup is any good but it works well in PvE.
If anyone wants to make some suggestions on my setup, I've only been back in SWG for a couple of months after leaving pre JTL so I'm quite new to the space side, then please feel free to give me some advice.

this is what I used to use:
L3 crafted reactor (13k gen)
L7 crafted engine (62yp 53r 103 ts)
L8 RE reward shield (2555 f/b)
L2 RE cap (38 regen, 1013 energy)
L1 crafted armor f/b (about 250 for 1k mass each)
L3 crafted booster
L7 RE Ion Pulse cannon (14900 mass, 3100 max damage, .32 refire)
L6 RE blaster (10k mass, 2700 max damage, .37 refire)
Mk2 IR missiles
Sensor Decoy CM
for PvP I replaced the L6 blaster with a L7 advanced ion cannon for the .81 shield eff but has to drop the shield to a L7 crafted.
L3 REed Reactor (1800 mass 13800 output)
L8 Engine (24k mass, working on a better one atm)
L7 Shield gen (protecto based, 14k mass, 2300f/b 14 regen)
L4 Capacitor (2.5k mass, 1100 max 44 recharge)
L1 DI (Pre nerf one, 500 mass 14ish speed)
L8 Weapon (23k mass on mine, but 25k or under is workable)
L7 Weapon (13k mass, this is a challenge to get low, but 15k mass is doable)
Then depending on what i'm doing its either some armor and boosters or Ord and counter measures.

Considering that the last time I responded to a thread about JSF mass being "too low", this account was sent on vacation for two weeks, I think I'll stick with my twitch and blowing "too low" mass JSF fighters out of space in my 66k mass A-Wing.
