Looking for some opinions on these ships in PVE.

Dunelizardis more manuverable, but has less mass, Kimogila has more guns and heavier mass.

Am I better off keeping my Dunelizard, getting better at flying it, and upgrading parts as I get them, or getting the Kimogila when I can, and swapping parts to it?

The Kimogila is getting within reach xp wise, but I am a casual player and anything higher than the Kimogila is quite a ways away.

Thanks

For most tier 4 or lower PvE enemies I can effectively use the Kimogila even with heavy mass (less maneuverable) but if I start to get a extremely agile enemy or Tier 5 enemy its hard to keep up with them in a dog fight with the Kimo. I've personally been swapping between a few different chassis to decide which ones I prefer..

I would suggest getting both really. The dunelizard is certainly a master worthy ship, but until you start to get more refined parts in it, can be tough to get everything you need stuffed in the mass. The kimo was a great ship for my until I qualified for upgrading to a Rhik.

IMO, save you cash and don't bother buying an Ixi or a Kihr.

yeah. a kimo is awesome. with a decent engine, and reduced speed it can keep A wings in sight. Definately get a kimo

I went with the kimo for two reasons:

1. more guns

2. better gun placement

The second gun on the Dunelizzard is too far below the cockpit for my liking. The wing guns on the Kimo are pretty widely spaced, but the two centerline guns are well positioned. I went with firepower over manuverability.

When I got to 4333 I moved to the Rihxyrk and I undeeded the other two. Once you fly the brick, you'll never look back.

Kimo: Tank

Dune: Fast cat

GO for both..switch between them... 1 for killing small craft the other for going against bigger ships.

Two Mark II and One Mark I mining lasers make for quite an impact while mining and fighting off asteroid raiders in the Kimo. One shot breaks off a chunk from the Mother 'roid and vaporizes any tier 1-3's that get in your way.

My Mark II Lasers do 600-900 odd damage at a refire rate of .411. The spread of the firing arc in the Kimo is quite effective at getting a hit on a target if you can't keep them lined up due to lag.

I can fill a 1000 unit cargo hold before my Cap overcharge 3 runs out if all goes well.

( I know WFN, right? but it might help you make your choice)

I have taken my Dunelizzie all the way to the vette mission. Wonder if I might be better with another ship at this point? But then again I am just so used to it by now! LOL

Dunelizard, all the way. If you can't fit what you need into 85k mass, you're not balancing your loadout properly.

I can get two REd level 7 guns, Mark III Concussion launcher and chaff launcher into mine and still have room for the REd level 8 reward shield and REd level 6 reward engine. Killed 4 or 5 Corvettes with this load, so PVE is no issue.

Can't stand the Kimo, personally. Cool looking shuip (especially the Style 2 version), but it's just too damn sluggish for me.

Sluggish???

What is that supposed to be a Hutt Joke..........lol

Mine turns on a dime at the right speed (3/4 throttle) (and a high mouse sensitvity setting)

But,I have been lucky with a very good pre RotW loot engine. No the best speed but the YPR is good. I used it on my Dune before I started mining in my Kimo.

Quit talking about my boss like that

And yeah, that'sthe reason why the reward engine was toned down; you could turn big, slow fighter-bombers into interceptors. Compare them with currently available parts

I'm not sure if this is the 'reward engine' that others were talking about. I scored it from a pirate kill in tattoine while I was aSmuggler's Alliance1111 now I am a SA 2323. It tops out at 750 for velocity in my Kimo.

He's my boss too!!!

I got that engine a looong time ago. (Right after Jtl launched on a server far far away)

I really miss those uber drops from the higher level Commerce RaiderLeader whatevers over Tatooine.

In beta you couldn't swing a dead gorg in orbit without hitting three of those things. Now I hardly see them.
