No, you're right, that's not the reward engine, but same issues apply; wonderous loot like that doesn't drop anymore, so the comparison isn't fair

Either way, it all depends on your flying style anyway. If you like slugs, go with the Kimo . Me, I fly Spitfires and F15s in other sims, so the Dunelizard is my baby.

Panty-waist? LOL!

Won't have to worry about mass ever again if you finish the ROTW station missions. Talk about the best of both worlds. Personally, I would have preferred to actually have to make trade-offs when fitting out a ship, rather than having my cake etc.

Cap overcharge only 'runs out' when you land or repair.

Oh well it has been happening since at least RotW. I never really noticed it before.

IMHO, Doomlizard is best all around ship freelance have. Kimo is not a bad ship, use one for mining myself, but for everything else i prefer the lizard

I would recommend getting the Dunelizard until you can get to the Tier 4 heavy fighter -- never can remember how to spell it.

Try em both first. Personally i havent flown a kimo yet. I always got from 1xxx to 4333 with a dunelizard. Then it's a Rihkxyrk (i call it the mini-gunboat) for me. Tough i might also take a Heavy scyk for more speed/manouver.

but of course, now we have the Heavy Syck.

I've managed 95k mass, so I fit a big gun and a 115spd MK V engine, and still have room for a MK IV shield.

My kimo is strictly a mining vessel now, but I only use one mining laser and a tractor, plus a BFG to help figt off pirates. For PvE and the little PvP I have encountered thus far, I like the Ixiyen. It performs much like the X-wing(accelleration/deceleration is quite a bit lower though), and with only two weapon slots, you can easily mount a couple of BFG's instead of being tempted to go smaller with a third gun. I plan on getting the new RotW fighter as soon as I can, I liked my Khirahx but it was too light to be useful. This will give me that same body style I like, along with the cajones to get the job done.

It really depends on your style, but you can always keep both. Here's my take on it:

Dunelizard: Master-worthy dogfighter. Probably good for PvP (I need to play around with this some more). If you like maneuverability, this ship is precise and snappy enough to keep up with the high end TIE fighters, etc. But until you get some high quality & low mass components, it may be hard to keep it up to par during your climb through the ranks. With good parts it certainly holds its own. It's actually quite a good deal for a ship that you can get in Tier-1, since you can still use it effectively as an Ace. In fact, mine has become my most efficient mining ship, believe it or not.

Kimogila: Heavier, 3rd weapon. Lower maneuverability. This ship of course can take a good beating if you put large shields/armor on it. The thing that not everyone thinks about though is how some of these ships fit into your advancement. If you're going to advance up through a Rihx and on to a Krayt, this is a WONDERFUL stepping stone. It has the same performance characteristics as the Rihkx. The Krayt is about the same, if not a little more maneuverable. And since all 3 of these ships have the same hard-points, the only thing that really changes is the mass. By using this ship you set yourself up to learn the steering and the weapon loadouts of the heavier ships before you even get to them. Adjusting to these new ships is a breeze this way, and makes for a very smooth climb through the ranks. It also has a less restrictive view if you keep the cockpit frame on.

Dunelizard - My primary ship. I'm working on the Master missions now, and I haven't really had to switch out. It's the best balance of handling and mass in the Privateer's arsenal. If you're going to PVP, make sure you get the Style 1, it has a smaller profile.

Kimogila - My mining vessel. Tankish. I used it on the Y-8 quest and I didn't have any problems fighting off the Tier 5s in Kessel, since I was outfitted with a 2000 HP sheild and some level 7 armors. Fast Imperial ships might be a kind of a pain for you, since it turns like a boat: starting a turn is quick, stopping a turn takes a while.

Stay away from the Black Sun ships, they stink for the most part. (imho)

What is the unboosted speed on that Syck? I have a dunelizard with a 118 engine and get 1125 unboosted.

Cruises at 1112 and hits 1446 with EO3 with a 117.1 engine, with YPR all around 63.

I'm going to see if I can build a better engine & booster for it,and get it past that 2k mark, but I'll probably have to strip out the armour.
