Thread: Firespray Pilots!

i need your oppinion of your Firespray. i am considering spending a DISGUSTING amount of credits on the ship, but first i would like to get as many oppinions about the Firespray as i can.

let me tell you a little about my plans. i enjoy the space expansion, but it is just a small time hobby for me. once i make Master Pilot - and that might be a little while as i am just now 4333 Freelance Pilot - i will run some space missions on occasion, i will help others finish quests they need help with, and perhaps...just maybe...one day in the future, i MIGHT try a single PvP space fight...just to see how poor my pilot skills really are. other than that the ship will be used for travel.

to give you some idea of how poor of a pilot i am, i've never even loaded a droid onto one of my ships. don't know how to use one, or really even what they do (other than they add faction 'specials' to your ship). i always fly solo for fear of any party member dying of laughter as i flounder around in my ship, disabling NPCs so i can later come back and finish them off. can't kill 'em out right cuz they swarm up on me and kill me quick LOL!

why spend all the credits then you ask? because, like many, many others i fell in love with the Firespray when i first laid eyes on the thing. so unless it is just absolutely a hunk of junk, with no fire power, no mass, no hit points and no manuverability (is that even a word?) i will likely be making some master shipwright very, VERY happy.

any thoughs on how the ship handles? mass? fire power?

anything will be helpful

thank you for your time.

I was wondering the same thing. I'm debating whether to have that as my fighting ship, or just use one of the high tie fighter classes.

my OPINION is that it is way worth it for the money if you are gonna be doing space fighting... my master pilot friends all have one and they all pwn to the extreme.

...and yes manuverability is a word

If you just WANT one, then why not? Nothing at all wrong with throwing a wad down on a showpeice.

As far as using them? I've got 2 and wouldn't take anything in the world for them, with the right loadout they're unbeatable in PvE.

NOW, as far as PvP goes (without rehasing the 'unbalanced' issues of RotW), they ROCK until you go up against one of the new ships, (Grevious, RGInterceptor, Jedi Fighter) all other things being equal (Pilot skill and equipment).

Dunno how much into RP you are, but there's nothing better than getting a random call for help in a mission and showing up in your KSE, kinda makes you FEEL like an Ace.

If a poisonous snake is dropped on top of you from a gyrocopter, don’t freak out and shoot your own driver with your arrow gun, making the vehicle lose control and blow up. Its probably just as scared as you are.

Remember this, it's often the gear more than the ship itself that makes something suck or rock.

A good engine, a good shield, and good weapons (that you need to be prepared to relearn aiming in the KSE) and the ship will be just fine for the needs you described, except PvP. The profile of the KSE is such that only the exceptional gear makes it viable in space PvP, be prepared to be disappointed in your one PvP fight if you don't take the time to learn and acquire some "good stuff"

Also, not to flame but to explain, the price is often reflective of the hours of tedious Reverse Engineering the Shipwright had to put into getting the schematic. It's almost litterally an eye bleeding process, so take that into consideration before you judge the multimillion credit price tag too harshly.

oh, i won't be dissapointed WHEN i lose that PvP fight. i KNOW i suck at pilot LOL

and i have no problem with paying the price for the ship know that i know it is not smoke and mirrors. i know it takes a lot of time and effort, and appriciate the work ALL crafters do. my only concern was paying as much as i plan to pay, only to find out that the ship was neat looking and nothing more.

Firespray has huge mass, nice manuverability, but is about as hard to hit as a star destroyer. I love it As a freelance pilot, you have the krayt - some neutrals think the krayt is better, its a matter of taste. Close to same mass, krayt has 4 guns (1 being a turret) while the Firespray only has 2. Both huge, krayt as very nice manuverability for its size.

Well there will people who love the firespray and then people who hate it. When i first flew it, I loved it and I still love it. The engine sounds badass, the way the ship looks when it turns or pitches just looks cool, reminds me of a hangin roller cooster hitting turns and loops( like Top Gun Ride) it just looks cool. Now with that put aside here ares the good and the bad...

Good..

High mass, you can get them up to 213k. Good turning and manuverability for a big ship. Two ordance slots ( two image recs for pvpers, two proton missile lsots for vette runs) Two weapon slots, having 2 guns makes a hudge difference in pve and pvp. The cockpit looks cool(imo) and its really easy to fly around ( for people who dont liek cockpit view) and of course, you feel like a bounty hunter flying a ship boba fett made infamous...

the bad...

Its a big target and easy to hit, easpecialy from behind. Its slightly slower than the krayt( which doesnt make a huge difference really) and since they are hard to get, they cost millions. Also the weapon orientation is a little weird at first but you do get used to it ( fires kind of like a b wing, guns are below you so you have to aim a little higher to compensate).

Now if yorue a hardcore boba fett fan ( or jango) you will get the firespray regardless, but a few things to keep im mind when flying one. If youre going to be flying a big ship like this you should compensate with stuff like high damage guns and a really fast engine and booster, since you cant use profile to yoru advantage use your mass to your advance. So when you hit you hit hard and kill in one hit, and then can boost away faster than other ships. Ive pvped in this and it doesnt do all that bad. Fun ship to fly in pvp events and just fun to fly in general.

In general almost any ship is pvp viable, and only a short few are pvp uber. The firespray is not an uber ship for pvp BUT it still does well and if you like the firespray in thje movies, buy one ( or make your own) and have fun, I know I did.

well i picked mine up for 6 million, and PvE havent died once. i PvP in it a lot, usually doing patrols in DS or kessel for my player squadron. basically its the element of surprise. the fact that people dont think you would pvp in a FS helps too. then you hit them with 2 4000 damage cannons and a couple IR's and you feel great. and the compliments rule.. get a good paint job on it

You're cutting yourself very short, here. If you've even come close to mastering pilot without droid programs, I salute you. A very nice guide to using them can be found here:

I only used reactor overload after I got my Xwing, and nothing else (well non Rebel which is the same as nothing lol) until I was about to go on the corvette run. Also did most of my grinding back before Cap overcharge and CtSS.
