Thread: Superior Engines exist

Today I RE'd an engine for a friend. It was a Level6 with 79.9 speed. I personally felt that there wasn't anything superior to reward engines, but they exist. This person got JtL less than a month ago, so its not an old drop. I just wanted to share with everyone. The bad boy came out to 83.1 speed, and 8744 mass, with turn rates of 67-70. Tasty stuff indeed. I had a hard time dropping it for them

Save up enough parts and you can make any engine you wish.

I have a post nerf engine thats 70 YPR, 84 speed, at 9K mass.

What i find ironic is all the todo about the prenerf reward engine when, in truth, is not the most ideal engine to PvP dogfight with, RE'd or not.

the post nerf reward is 79.0 speed, so he found one with 79.9; still a huge differnce from the 92.2 pre nerf.

my post nerf re'd reward engine came out to 82.2 speed, 70 yaw 71 pitch 8900 mass 1300 drain (i love that reactor drain, lets me run eo4 with a lvl1 reactor). if i had a pre nerf it would have been 95.9, and my top speed on eo4 would be 1342 instead of 1150.

I've got the pre-nerf engine (92.2 speed) but I also recently looted a 92.9 speedengine.

But, I was verypleased to see recently a SW made reactor with 16,000 energy output (not re'd) that I quickly bought.

you cant get speed in the 90s with PYR in the 60s on a level 4 RE engine though still, can you? The prenerf engine is still >> any looted engine I've heard of since the nerf

It would have been nice if we Shipwrights were given the ability to simply make engines that were only slightly inferior to the reward engine instead of having the entire Pilot profession being beaten with a nerf bat. *shrugs helplessly* What can you do?

OTOH, a guildie looted a Level 6 engine with 90.4 speed and upper 60s, low 70 manueverability stats two nights ago. Go figure.

The much lauded prenerf engine is an L6, not an L4.

Im going to take a guess that it was too fast vs mass

Guessing they thought it was unbalancing to be able to keep up with tier 5 ships at tier 3? Mine re'd to 95.7 and I still use it to this day as I have not looted anything (despite having mastered 5 of the pilot profs) anywhere even close to it. The best I have looted since was in kessel a couple of nights ago.... lv10 86.9 with p/y/r being 77+ to all three. Can't wait to RE this one to see how it comes out, but with 50k mass, it is not gonna be easy to fit in much... so my x-wing will keep the 95.7 re'd prenerf motor in it. Anyone checked to see if you can use an anti-decay kit on these things?
