This is all going out of memory, but I'll do my best. I used to be a rebel ace but now I'm going through Imperial. I'll use a similiar setup in my TIE/Adv since it has the same mass as an Awing (65k).

Engine: 95.9 speed, 63-67 range p/y/r, 9.5k mass ("vintage" level 6 reward engine RE'ed)

Reactor: Crafted Mark 1 reactor, 10k+ energy, 1200 mass

Shield: Crafted Mark IV shield, 1900 strength front/rear, 11.85 recharge, 16.5k mass

Capacitor: RE'ed Level4 capacitor,1000 energy, 39.0 recharge, 3.9 k mass

Droid Interface: RE'ed Level 1 (bugged old one), 14.8 speed, 500 mass

Booster: RE'ed Level 2 booster, 26.2 speed, 2040 maximum energy (don't remember other stats, but I can say it runs for a good 20 seconds or so), 2k mass

Weapon: RE'ed Level 7 blaster, 1900-2800 damage, .63/.64 against shield/armor,24 energy/shot, .31 refire rate14.8k mass

Other Weapon (for when I'm not carrying a missile launcher): RE'ed Level 8 blaster, 2500-3875 damage, .66/.67 against shield/armor, 14 energy/shot, .390 refire rate

Launcher: crafted Mark IV Proton Launcher, 14k mass

I use the missile launcher when Iwould help people againstthe corvette in Kessel.

I posted this a while ago already so its a bit outdated... but it is a start. From the point i suggest updating with whatever you have that is better and/or saves mass

Pink One (A-wing)

Main Reactor: RE'ed lvl 1 (mass: 845.3 gen-rate: 10891.9) - crafted Mark I has more energy, can be easier replaced and is also around 1k heavy

Engine: RE'ed prenerf quest lvl 6 (mass: 10130.6 pyr: 65.8/67.4/65.7 speed: 95.9)

Shield: crafted Mark IV lvl 7 (mass: 16907.8 hitpoints: 1940.2/1940.2 recharge: 9.42)

Front Armor: crafted Mark III lvl 5 (mass: 4975 armor: 883.1 hitpoints: 776.4)

Rear Armor: crafted Mark II lvl 3 (mass: 2443.4 armor: 627 hitpoints: 527.6)

Capacitor: RE'ed lvl 2 (mass: 1511.7 energy: 948.7 recharge: 35.6)

Booster: RE'ed lvl 2 (mass: 1449.4 acc: 31.5 speed: 23.7) - replaced with crafted Mark I

Droid Interface: crafted prenerf lvl 1 (mass: 429.1 speed: 13.6)

Weapon: RE'ed quest lvl 8 (mass: 24112.2 damage: 2507-3876.8 vs: 0.670/0.670 speed: 0.39)

Ordnance: - None -

Countermeasure: crafted sensor decoy launcher (mass: 2197.5)

Reactor - Mk1 - (10.5k gen, 800 mass)
Engine - RE L6 Reward (~8500 mass)
Booster - Mk1 (~800 mass)
Shield - RE L8 Reward (~30k mass)
Armor - Mk2 Reinforced (~5k mass)
Droid I/F - Mk1 pre-nerf (~600 mass)
Capacitor - RE L2 (1500 mass)
Weapon - RE L6 (10k mass)
Ordinance - Image Rec II (~6k mass)
CM - chaff launcher (900 mass)

If I want more firepower for PvE, I change the shield to a 17k mass MkIV, remove the missile launcher or armor, and drop in a L8 blaster.

Cheers,
Alirc

When you say a "vintage" level 6 reward engine what exactly do you mean?

Is it a loot drop or something else. I have been unable to find anything above the 70 in one or more stats. I understand that the REing makes a difference, but I am just not sure how to obtain these things.

By vintage he means pre-nerf. You can get the same PYR by REing a reward engine with some decent drops, but not the top-speed.

i was wondering how he got 95.9 speed. that's insane.

should i pick up A wing first or the higher equipment certification for tier 4?

thank you all for taking the time to post.

Have a frienldy (starsider) shipwright (*cough*me*cough*) make a lvl1 Reactor with a Limiter instead of an Overcharge (sub-component) - I've gotten about same gen rate (10800-ish) and I think even under 800 mass (I actually think it was 790ish). Might be able to do better than that too.

I made a few of these, but I'm suprised they don't sell often. I would think these reactors with an overload would work for near any ship that has one weapon. A-wings, many TIEs, etc. Of course, by the time people are loading out their ships for PvP, they do it in deep space anyway, so decay is none(/negligible) - so maybe I just answered my own question, heh.

Basically, all you need to start off with is low-level components, level 1 components can be very good, as the mass is extremely low, and the specs of the component is good too.

I have mass on all my components, which is either 1K-4K, and as Awings only have 60K+ mass, you need to be careful of what to put in.

You may have to sacrifice your booster/droid interface to be able to fit your weapons, and armor in.

Eventually, we all find a way of cramming it all in!

Unless you have a piece of level 8 equipment you really want to use, there not much purpose in going equipment first. The only level 8 items I use are my shield and blasters. I would like to get a nice L8 engine though.

As i said the ship i posted is a bit outdated. Basically you need to start from a point and then upgrade with what you go that is better/saves energy/saves mass, closing more and more on an "ideal" load-out. This depends on what you have available and not on what others have on their ships so updating is pretty irrelevant

Curently i use a crafted Mark I reactor with more than 11k generation and 1k mass for example but im too lazy to type out my up-to-date load-out

I personally think that energy will be more and more important due to new patches possibly fixing some overload programms so when you RE items, go for low energy too.

Hey all,

I just set up my a-wing as follows:

LVL 10 Re'd blaster (3066-4600ish, .82/.81, .373 fire rate)

Crafted Level 5 Shield

Crafted level 1 reactor

Re'd level 2 armor on front

Re'd level 2 cap

Re'd level 6 engine (top speed 82.2, ypr in the 70 range)

Pre-Nerf Level 1 DI

I'm still tweaking this set-up as much as I can, as I only really built it up the other night (I'm a SW as well, so I wanted a challenge and thought a level 10 weapon on an A-win would be a challenge..LOL)
