Thread: A wing alternate look?( leaph im hoping you know this)
Everyone keeps ignoring it when I bring it up, but here's another case...
I really think we should have an option to pick which engine, booster, weapon visuals are used on our ships. No extra art would be required, it's all in the game, all we'd need is a way to pick which one our ship uses. It wouldn't affect gameplay at all, just a little bit of extra customization for us.

Actually it does, different crafted weapons have different looks.

I actually had my first QID turn out like one of these horrible negative cambered fin things and YUCK. I know a lot of people, if not the majority like this look but I kind of found it wierd. After obtaining a faster QID, I made sure I had it re'd with a different 'standard' lvl 8 engine in the reverse engineering tool so I have the standard look once more. Standard look ftw imo. ![]()

If you want fancy looking engines, go get a fancy looking one, and as for boosters, well come on i loot hundreds of the things every night, they arent hard to find.
I don't want to sacrifice performance for looks, but it would be nice to be able pick which style if only on crafted parts. I seriously doubt I will beat my my ELite engine with any looted one (atleast in top speed) but that doesn't mean I want to be stuck with the engine style it gives. As for boosters I doubt I could beat my Elite one of those. So it isn't always a simple matter of going out and looting another one with the right style.
