i just switched from 2/2/2/2 storm squadron to 2/2/2/2 corsec and wow is it easier. My first tier 2 mission for corsec was kill four nym ships while ss is like an escort or kill a yt, not sure but alot easier. Also i love corsec has little to none escorts so far at least. Is corsec going to stay this easy?

Pretty much, yeah. I think there was one tough mission against a gunboat at the end of T3 or T4, but that's about it.

Your first full squadron is never a cakewalk, but the missions don't get rough until Tier 3, and the only REALLY rough one is the one with two gunboats, I think...

Yeah, is it true the Smuggler Alliance is harder then CorSec though?

The two gunboat mission is in tier 4. 3rd mission I believe. SA is tougher only because it has a tier 4 escort mission that goes on and on and on and on.

Somewhat. Smugglers Alliance faces a LOT of endless swarm missions, but the reality is, there were no gunboat kills that I remember (none in the last two, its been nearly a year since I did the others). The biggest PITA factor for the Smugglers stemmed from our Tier 3 missions being in Dathomir space. It wasn't the missions that were particularly painful, its the yardtrash spawns interferencethat makes punching yourself in the crotch more fun by comparison.

Everything is easier than Storm Squadron. I solo'd Smuggler's Alliance entirely, as well as one of the rebel ones (can't remember the name, it starts on Tatooine). Even the other Imp squadrons are easier, as I've helped some guildies with them.

It's fairly easy. Teir 4 exit mission has a nasty gunboat, but it's not too bad with a friend or two, especially if you've done another squad.

... Oh, and they're deciving you about lower escorts... darn trainers spring them up on you, then they never end.....

I have mastered Storm Squadron, RSF and Imperial Inquisition, and the Inquisitionwas easy and solo-able, but RSF is a cakewalk. I very quickly solo'd the entire thing in the Dunelizard (that I am still flying, lol) I got at Tier 1. SS was seemingly impossible at the time, but then it was my first one right after JTL came out, so I would like to assume (I hope? ) that I am also a better pilot now. But those Tier 3 missions were a real drag in SS...

You managed to solo the Inquisition mission with the gunboat? I'm at that one in a Heavy TIE, and ran out of time on my first try ... I'm using the L7 reward gun and no ordnance, one of those is going to change (especially if I can find a SW sometime soon).

I ran a Dunelizard up to 4 -2-1-1 where I hoped on to the Grevious. RE'd Borstel lvl 8 wep, RE'd lvl 8 2400+ Shields, Decent RE'd lvl 7 Wep, a nice RE'd lvl 2 Booster, Very nice RE'd lvl 6 Engine giving me 1.2 To PYR with about 82 or so speed. Decent Firepower, Decent speed. As terrified as I am of Aggressors, I found I could take 5 Tier IV's at a time and not suffer Armor Damage (which, is good, as my armor is about 240.0, or so ). Worked nice against a Tier IV gunboat (My Aggressor AND GB tactics are still very bad. I don't Joist Aggressors, and, I close in on tumbling GB's to within 50 Meters. I did Much, much better against the final wave of Five Aggressors than I did against the wave of Two, and, I lived without any subsytem Damage against the GB, despite my poor strategies).

Still, The Dunelizard is FUN. Carries a fair bit, and feels nice with a good engine. Less manueverable than the Syck, but, most new pilots don't jump into the Heavy Variant And, aren't certed for the Lvl of Engine that can really make it sing. Many of the low tier ships you will be fighting are a breeze for a good pilot, whatever the ship. These missions are an excellent place to begin gaining some of your basic Flight experience. I like honing my skills by playing various games with Tier II and III Duty missions, as well as Escort Missions

  • "The No-Spam Kill" -- Targeted shots only, Just pure target practice on a Moving Body

  • Burst Kill -- Two Bursts of Three when you think you have a lock on the target and then on to the next regardless of a kill; Emphasis is on speed here, for me this game is about not dilly dallying. Place your shot, fire your burst, take one more whack and get on with it. I am trying to remove that feeling that I have all the time in the world (Accuracy, here, isn't the name of the game, urgency is)

  • Kill all the attackers before they can hit the Escorted ship -- Urgency AND accuracy.

  • Dive -- the "Take No Damage" game. I play this one by ear, but, on ALL incoming, initial encounters, I aim to take NO damage at all, and try and maintain this throughout the encounter ( The initial encounter is VERY doable)

These are my basic games. I also am working on jumping into a slide, rather than simply nosing up to follow a flier. I Used to do nothing but slide back in the day when I didn't know what Roll was, or, how to do it. Now that I am a "Better" pilot, I find I don't slide nearly at all, and, some recent posts have pointed out the benefits of situational sliding ( I had already noticed that when I am nosing up to follow an opponent through a climb, my ability to hit them drops through the floor, and, my own vunerability climbs as High as I do.)

I also spent hours flying around the Space stations, not exactly in the course laid out in the K.I.S.S. Guide, but, that was because at the time I couldn't figure out how the heck to do that! It lost it's challenge a while ago but... A GREAT many aspects of flight basics 1st_V spoke about are tricks that I DON'T quite have under my instinctive belt. I need to go back and revisit those wonderful Posts.
